I must be the culprit here... I switched to Kentucky Bourbon. Partly for the tax break on imported spirts, partly for my waistline.

Comedian Matsumoto Hitoshi is in hot water for remarks he made about the recent spate of detergent gas suicides on a radio show with Takasugi Kousei.

    http://www.j-cast.com/m/2008/05/12019982.html

    My crude translation:

Matsumoto Hitoshi: The news companies are having fun with the recent news. Countdown lists of how many killed themself today.... From now on, there should be no more news on this subject.

The more they bradcast this stuff, more people will start thinking, "maybe I want to kill myself too" and more people will.

In a way, maybe they are taking themselves out at the right time. I couldn't care less if these idiots want to kill themselves.

Takasugi Kousei: That's a good point, Matusmoto.

2chan was instantly flooded with complaints and commentary:

[Idiots!? Who do you think you are?] [This is worse than Koda Kumi's gaffe] [What do you mean perfect timing, Matsumoto is a scumbag]

[I totally agree] [Well, the news keeps saying Hydrogen Sulfide. They're giving people ideas] [He was going on a good rant up until then...]

They had Black people on this commercial series for years, I believe a Stevie Wonder tune gave this coffee brand it's name. It's also the same coffee that Tommy Lee Jones plugs.

    Remember 3-4 years ago....

"Cause when I look inside my heart And it tells the truth to me Loud and clear my soul cries out It tells me what I need I need the Fire, Fire, Fire"

[Stevie Wonder takes a swig of "Fire" coffee at the edge of the Grand Cnayon. CGI flames burst fron his chest instantly.]

I don't know the Engligh word for 下取り, when the dealer buys back your old car, and deducts the price from the new car.

I once knew the daughter of a rich man, she bought a new Porsche amost every three months, everytime she got in a fender bender.

I suggested she buy a Volvo or Lexus as they don't dent as easy and have more safety measures, but she said, "they aren't cute".

    BAKA!!!

ToughGuyBanker: I hear ya on that, but in Japan, I have yet to meet a single person who owns a supercar that is actually worthy of it. Not saying all Japanese guys who own a car like this are unworthy, but for the most part, they just don't appreciate the sheer beauty, power and prestige of owning one. They just think they do.

So the yuppie bankers and real estate agents in Santa Monica are "worthy" of their 911's and Jags?

Hmm, my old Citizen Altessa Watch got 95% of those function and I bought it 8yrs ago.

Yes I'm sure it does. But, can it withstand a fall onto concrete from 25 feet. Or can it keep it's watertight seal at 20 feet of sea water. As, these are the requirements of a "G-shock" brand label.

The name G-shock wasn't for erotic subtlety, it actually means something.

Although I'm usually neutral, I'm casting my lots in with the "No sympathy from me" crowd.

These women broke the law (twice) and reacted with about as much tact as a drunken Chris Farley.

Would they have reacted the same to Singaporean, Chinese, American, [insert country of choice here] cops?

    Probably not.

The last fellow I saw refusing to show ID, yelling at a police officer in a foreign language, while attempting to escape on the show "COPS" had his head knee-grinded into the pavement. All the while 4 other officers twisted his arms in a fashion that would make MMA fighters wince.

That's right, there were 2 more officers there just to point guns at him and yell "Stop Resisting!!".

There's a reason why the Toyota Land Cruiser is the vehicle of choice for Mujahadeens in the Middle East and drug cartel guerillas in South America.

The man is exactly right about China. The joke is that the US is also run by goons and thugs and what produces a lot of junk. Wonder if he would have enough of the round ones to say that on CNN.>

As long as the US go has been an independant country, there have been people calling the President, or his staff; Aholes, Idiots, SOBs, Dkheads, Thugs, Terrorists, Bastards, Perverts, and many more.

Some have even called the President of the US Satan himself. Not to mention pictures of Bush with a Hitler moustache or horns.

All this in public domain. I wonder how long someone would last in China if he did the equivalent.

How long would a "Michael Moore" last in China?

A 1 for 20 kill ratio in Vietnam was too shocking for the American public. Now a 1 for 140 kill ratio in Iraq is proving too much ot handle. If you support the war, get used to it. People die in war. If you oppose the war, don't use the number of dead soldiers to back your cause. See above, It's war, people die. And it's just in bad taste to use soldiers who died bravely to sell a political viewpoint.
