Where Governor Palin failed the American people was on this point: she failed to remind older voters and inform the younger that back in 1973 Senator Biden was one of only five senators who opposed a bill that eventually opened up Alaska's massive petroleum reserves to commercial exploitation, legislation enacted in response to the first of the many opportunities oil-rich Arab kingdoms have taken, in complicity with the Democratic Party, to screw the American consumer, among other nefarious aims.
America now gets approximately 20 percent of its domestic supply of oil from Alaska.
In explanation of his opposition at the time Senator Biden cited the threat to the local caribou population.
Near the Alaska pipeline, which has created tens of thousands of jobs for Americans and added billions of dollars to the US economy, the caribou population is now five or six times larger than it was in the 1970's.
I think Governor Palin knows that statistic.
But she is probably to young to remember or to have been aware of Senator Biden's long-standing opposition to energy independence for America.

So we have here an article that describes what - a little contretemps between Senator McCain and his running mate, a difference of opinion?
It undoubtedly balances an article from last month reporting how Senator Biden admitted publicly that Senator Clinton would have made the better choice for vice president on the Democratic ticket.

I would have to say it was the one who mopped the floor with the tired, waxy, botoxed, hair-plugged windbag from Scranton.
Great stuff: 'Popular' teen and collegiate set liberal pundit Matt Taibbi (above) explains to his pimply devotees that Governor Palin's popularity is the result of an America that is too stupid to know better or too lazy to care ~
"All because most Americans no longer have the energy to do anything but lie back and allow ourselves to be jacked off by the calculating thieves...
but that has mysteriously made itself so influential and wealthy:
...who run this grasping consumer paradise we call a nation....."

Detroit News: “Michigan’s economy is so bad that State Department is sending fewer Iraqi refugees to the area because of concerns that their future would not be bright.”
Detroit has a Democrat for mayor, the state legislature is controlled by Democrats and the governor of Michigan is a Democrat.

Senator Biden:Well Gwen, two years ago Barack Obama warned about the sub prime mortgage crisis.
There is nothing to substantiate this.
It is a lie.

“When we kicked — along with France, we kicked Hezbollah out of Lebanon, I said and Barack said, “Move NATO forces in there. Fill the vacuum, because if you don’t know — if you don’t, Hezbollah will control it.” . . .
What on earth is Senator Biden talking about here?

The New York Times covered the debate and reports as follows
' "On Thursday night, Palin took her inexperience and made a mansion out of it. From her first “Nice to meet you. May I call you Joe?” she made it abundantly, unstoppably and relentlessly clear that she was not of Washington, did not admire Washington and knew little about Washington. She ran not only against Washington, but the whole East Coast, just to be safe.
To many ears, her accent, her colloquialisms and her constant invocations of the accoutrements of everyday life will seem cloying. But in the casual parts of the country, I suspect, it went down fine. In any case, that’s who Palin is." '

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin's threads are the busiest ones on this web site.
It must be fear.

Problem 1: Your boss, absolute ruler of the nation, is ex-KGB.
Problem 2: Roughly 52 billion US dollars in private capital has fled your country since you invaded a fledgling democracy rekindled fears of a new cold war.
Course of action: Blame the United States.
