The problem is that negative advertising works.

One day he's going to run out of nouns to put after 'the'. Then he'll be in trouble.

Agree, Chibaman. Almost all of them will be on 250 000, which was the minimum starting salary at Nova if I remember correctly.

Massive fines for idiots who don't wear seatbelts, heavily inforced, please. Obviously there are a whole heap of people with no common sense at all who need a different incentive other than protecting the lives of the ones they love.

America needs a lot more Mike Moores. Your media is so concentrated in the hands of so few people and so pro-business that anyone presenting an alternative view is like gold. You need people to challenge the status quo and get debates started. Or do you want the next 100 years to be like the last 8?

A Big Mac has nutritional value, yes, but very little and you're taking something healthier out out your diet to make room for the Big Mac.

It all seems crap and 99% of it is but once you get out of pops and rock there are some pretty good bands. The 5-6-7-8s and Zeni Geva spring to mind.

I was teaching today and one student said that it was important to have a female leader before the US had one. I asked her "do you think Koike is the best person for the job?". The answer was inaudible.

This sounds sexist but if she wins it will be because she's a woman (she has no other redeeming features). She's hopeless but then again, Japanese politicians are hardly the cream of society. At least she couldn't be worse than Mori.

That would be funny, if Harper and Obama won. Canada would have a more conservative leader. Wonder if that's happened before?

America: you guys really need to raise some taxes. I know it's politically unpopular but the time has come. It's not going to be long before the government itself is bankrupt and unable to raise more capital due to its weakening financial status.

It's blatantly sexist, treating women as the 'weaker sex'. However, I always give up my seat to anyone that needs it, pregnant women included.

The foreign crime rate is about one third that of the Japanese themselves. Brazilians and Chinese are higher than the Japanese but every other country/area is lower. The crime rate among Koreans is almost neglible, for example, but it doesn't stop them being considered criminals by the Japanese.

The media is patently full of BS with claims that the number of foreign crimes is 'up' (so is the number of foreigners) or 'foreign crime rate up 16% on last year' (never mind it went down by more than that the year before). They'll distort the stats any way they can.

God must be angry with him.

BTW Neverknow2, Japanese Buddhism is so far removed from mainstream Buddhism that it's pretty much considered a cult here, especially Souka Gakkai. There is no concept of karma, reincarnation, nirvana - basically the foundations of Buddhism.

That's lovely Ogiedoggie. Even if you believe homeless people are homeless because they choose to be, why would you advocate them being murdered? That's just sick, I'm afraid.

Nice choice of words: 'heartbeat'. McCain could die any day (although he probably won't) and put someone with no experience in charge of the US. That's just a little bit scary although she couldn't be worse than Bush. Could she?

A tiny but insignificant minority of the homeless might choose that lifestyle but the majority are forced into it. BS article.

New Orleans should just be abandoned. It's a terrible place for a city: two hurricanes and probably more in the future plus it's sinking and nobody can stop it from doing so.
