There was an accident near my house and the glass and debris was just swept to the side of the road. I don't know who is in charge of the clean up, the police or the insurance company, but someone's not doing their job.

Economics 101: During the good times, governments save big surplusses. In bad times, governments spend these surplusses. Considering that Bush spent massiving during the good times and now Obama has to spend stave off a depression, isn't the US totally screwed?

BHP is already the world's biggest mining company. When it gobbles Rio Tinto, which is pretty damn large itself, it's going to create a monster with huge global clout. I can see why the Aussie government is not banning the takeover and why the rest of the world is worried.
