LOL, a story featuring Democrats and Republicans getting political and off-topic? Whatever next? While I dislike Republican policies, this should be a non story. Everyone says stupid things without thinking. Do we really want emotionless, humourless robots as our leaders? Because that is what this meaningless partisan bickering is leading to.

Moderate Malaysia - apparently not. At least she's not being stoned to death for being raped but that's about all you can say in Malaysia's defense.

Like every business, they exist to maximise profits at all costs. How successful they are is a reflection on society, not the businesses themselves.

I eat at Mos Burger maybe 3 times a year and skip all the others. It's just crap that they sell and I have enough self-respect not to eat there.

He helped enact measures to protect civil and labor rights, expand healthcare, upgrade schools, increase student aid and contain the spread of nuclear weapons. This is taken from the Drudge Report. Enough said.

What if imposing martial law would also saved lives and lead to captures of terrorists? Where does this guy draw the line between what is right and wrong?

Awesome. England has such a rich linguistic history so trying to keep it going is great. Keep up the wacky town names too, England!

a flag-waving crowd of hundreds in a country of millions this is not meaningful. Someone would celebrate anything political in any country in the world.

This will blow over quickly but Britain got something valuable out of it, probably the very thing Brown is denying, oil and gas rights. Yes, it's a slap in the face to soldiers, the US and the bereaved families, blah, blah, blah but it's still a very smart move.

Bolt falls short of perfection doesn't that mean he failed to run at the speed of light? I think he can be excused.

Excellent news. The only way to fight drugs is to make them legal and treat them as a health problem, not a crime.

Loki520 A portion of that 16% also includes cost for health care provided to illegal aliens in the country....Another portion of that figure is the amount of medical supplies and expertise that we donate to other countries. So other countries don't have illegal aliens or give aid? Blow me away! I thought they did!

Also, even if you allow your blatantly wrong assumptions, there is still a huge difference between America's 16% of GDP spent on health vs Australia's 8.8% or Japan's 8%. (Also, these countries don't have tens of millions of people uninsured).

Public. The American system is clearly not working. They spend 16% of GDP on health care, double that of countries with public health care systems and somehow still manage to end up with tens of millions uninsured. And a country which will let its citizens die of preventable diseases loses the respect of other countries.

Exercising rights just because you can seems a bit dumb. Why not go hammer your head to a tree? You have that right, better use it before someone takes it away. I think these people are just gun-nuts, rights have nothing to do with their logic.

Nice link Pepingalarga. I guess prevention is slightly better than overly-complicated methods of killing like the old 5000 volt tennis racket trick.

5 day cricket in the Olympics...maybe not but 20/20 cricket takes only slightly longer than a game of baseball but with a lot more action and variety. It's more international too.

Rugby will be a success but golf...it will be like tennis, none of the top players really bother trying and without the atmosphere of a Grand Slam.

tkoind2, I admit it sounds radical to legalise all drugs but the experiment in Portugal (which everyone should research) has proved that drug use will fall in all categories when legalised.

Lovejazz, I believe young people use drugs partly to rebel against society and parents. If they were legal, usage would not be an act of rebellion and usage would fall. Again, Portugal.

    Moderator: Back on topic please.

Poor woman. She's doing a good job as S of State, as opposed to the crap job Bill did as President but will always be overshadowed by him. Things should get better for her as Bill fades away and she gets accepted in her own right.

Another death caused by drugs being illegal. Had ecstasy been a legal drug, the guy would have called the ambulance instead of his manager and the girl would have survived. (Other benefits of legalising drugs include lower police numbers, lower jail populations, lower criminalisation rates, cleaner/safer drugs, more tax income, better health and LOWER LEVELS OF DRUG USE which has been proved by the experiment in Portugal).

Blame McCain for this woman's sad demise. He picked her for some balance and shock value, not because she'd make a good VP. She got too much publicity for her ill-conceived opinions and now she's finished politically. Sad, in so many ways.

Organizers declined to say how much it has raised, and had hoped to raise about $500,000 If everyone in the US gave one cent they would raise $3 000 000 or six times this amount. Support would seem to be falling fast.
