She died a hero. Any parent worth their salt would do the same.

Hypothetical question? You're a parent (I'm a dad) and the house is on fire with your kids asleep inside, what do you do? I would go in to try and get them out. To hell with what my happen to me. The mother is a hero.

The issue of snacks should be higher on the agenda here. All to often kids come to school with sugar or salt-laden snacks and proceed to stuff their faces. Anyone think about the harm to young teeth and childhood obesity? No. Silence. Perhaps the teachers at the school were trying to set and maintain standards with snacks consumed at the school and on school outings. This in no way means it is ok to hit kids in the face, though.

My children are rare and precious. The thought of ANY harm coming to them is heartbreaking. No harm will ever come to my kids on my watch and I can speak for my wife in the positive too. It would be nice if those in charge actually gave a damn about those they are in charge of.

Desperate times. Must be very hard to look after a totally dependent adult. No blame, just pity.

I registered just for this. For once I agree with the government. There will be difficulties of course, but it's better than sitting on their hands hoping things will get better. Well done the Japanese Government. If only a handful of the young people going to the countryside stay and keep at it then it is a success. Actually, it's nice to be able to be positive about things once in a while.
