On the contrary, they celebrate them! I mean, look at all the rape videos available here.
Yep, this, of course, is the same country who's pollies are only just now "eyeing" jail time for pedaphile's who have kiddie porn on their computers. Can we see a pattern here? Hmmm.

proxy,
I guess it comes down to common sense. For example, having a picture of your 4 year old in the bath would be fine. If a stranger had the same image on their hard drive, it wouldn't. If an uncle had it on his drive, and scores of others like it, you'd be calling the cops.
Regarding clothing catalogues and the like? That's already happening here in Australia, and there are many people furious about this sexualisation of kids. So sooner or later, the law will have to be changed to stop it. The law is always going to be playing catch up, I suppose, as good people can't always predict the twistings of evil minds. However, It's shameful that Japan is taking so much longer to catch up than other nations.

It must be said that it's not the church itself who protects these scum, but cowards in positions of power within the church, like bishops, who simply sweep things under the carpet by transferring people rather than getting them arrested, as they should.

Well spotted, O previous poster whose name is hidden from me by a system bug. You can't just blame Bush for this one, but "democrats" as well.

Dear Evil Robot,
Just imagine a world where this kind of thing never got reported. How many more kids would die because people hadn't been made aware of the effects of being inside a closed up car? You really need to consider the media's role in public education.

It's only mind boggling if you leave the kid in the womb out of your ponderings. If you think about him or her then your mind may be less boggled, and a little more balanced. Why not follow Obama and Clinton's example and try looking at things from everyone's point of view?

A key Clinton supporter, Indiana Senator Evan Bayh, noted that Obama’s “bitter” remarks only reinforced the perception, however mistaken, that the Democratic party was “culturally elite.”
But they are culturally elite! That's supposed to be a good thing. Seriously, would you want some cultural moron leading the country...again?

Romeoramen11,
Your suggestion that being Christian requires one to be anti-gun is not supported by history ,theology or even logic, for that matter. Now, had you said he told everyone he was pro-murder-by-gun, then you'd be on firmer ground. Of course, you'd also be putting words in his mouth.
Speaking of "mispeaking" (love it!), I wonder if he'll also start talking about having to dodge bullets at airfields. Somehow, I doubt it. He'll be a lot more careful before shooting off his mouth now, won't he?

Most Tibetans would disagree with you, I think. This is why they are protesting. Calling a group Chinese just because they were invaded 50 or so years ago would be the same as calling Chinese Japanese for the same reason, wouldn't it?
