last I saw him next door he was a typical ossan who looked both ways 3 times before heading into his house probably to make sure nobody was following him... I'll be sure to give him all your condolences.

depends what you read, the 5,000 I have I would say have been most productive and all classics. Learnt Japanese via managa and anime so I would be an idiot to say anything bad against them. Moderation? ummm not really, who's to decide how much music, art, food, movies, games, anime, managa, model making, pc, etc is in moderation. If you do all the above like me in a far more proportion than the average person who might spend 3 hours every day in the bar or a total accumulation of 2 hours of smoking then who's to say how much is enough for that person.

never had a problem with credit cards, even Rakuten practically gave me one, must be because of my platinum Rakuten status. Citibank gave me a gold card no questions asked having used them for a couple of years. View Suica Card is a great card to have. None of these cards have my real name on them, but who cares, plenty of loop holes in the system and anonymity on the web is a good thing. My suggestion is to sign up for a CC via the web; JAL, ANA, BicCamera, Rakuten, take your pick... send the the stuff they need, salary info, house info whatever it takes to satisfy their doubts (too much supporting info can't hurt). Plenty of student Visa cards out their for those studying. I find it hard to believe the main bank you use would turn you down, but I guess it depends on the mood of the person that day.

    hmmmmmm

how about investing into renewable energy, that will increase more job, allow for mass production, bring the price down, decrease usage of fossil fuels and CO2, give Japan a cleaner image, put Japan on track again for leaders in renewable energy and so on.

how many years have people been using this old "South Korea has the highest broadband penetration (30%) and Internet use (76.5%) in the world" This is like 2004-05 info.

Japan is by far the number one BB country in terms of penetration and speed as of 2008. Not sure about the Netherlands, but a small population in a small country would make penetration much easier.

pricy, I print all my photos for 7yen (8yen without discount) and some fools pay 25-30yen for a L size photo. God forbid the average Joe won't ever find this webpage http://www.ig3.jp/price.html Been using them for over a year and they rock. I'll tell you how and why they can print so cheap another day.

I think iMode was one of the first to use "i" for hand held appliances. Looks like the economy has not affected the pockets of these guys.

I bought 7 of them, some other dude beat me to the first 1.

Diamonds are worthless anyway and not near as rare as BeBeers makes them out to be. I remember seeing a heap of diamonds at one of their storage facilities about 2 meters high piled up like some garbage dump.

I've had the vending machine eat my money and also the vending machine dudes to reimburse me at a fixed time the following day. Fortunately I was attending the trade show at Makuhari everyday.

I've also won a free drink twice in a row in the same vending machine.

The vending machine near my house speaks to you and tries to coerce you into buying an ice-cream.

Most new hi-tech vending machines already have a 24 hour PHS connection monitoring sales, temperature, theft and in an emergency like an earthquake will release all the drinks for free.

Personally I don't see why they need to install a actual hand held phone. You just need an obvious looking red emergency button that you have to punch and a microphone with built in camera. If it works for trains, elevators, intercoms (secom), ATM's, etc then people should be accustomed to it.

What value does Russia or China bring? Anyway, why would Japan want to be on the UN anyway, waste of money and resources for such a small country. Amazing that countries like the UK and Japan can be so successful while others with ample natural resources manage to live in poverty and make religion the main factor to start wars in the 21st Century.
