Showing nothing but his own ignorance.
We all know that if Obama was a white, Texan war-monger no-one would complain if he bowed. Because he's not white, nor Texan, or a war-monger (apparently,) the racist scum that exist in America (as they do in all other countries) seize every possible opportunity to slag him off. If he had failed to bow I guarantee they'd have found fault with that, so taking this crap seriously would be a waste of time.

Another one? Poor man, whoever was to blame the driver must have noticed something. Should have stopped and called for help.
If someone steps in front of me if I drive a car it will be their own fault that I hit them, how could I avoid it? But if I don't stop and try to help them, it's my fault if they die.

People of equal status do most definitely bow to each other here in Japan. But it should be pretty equal. I haven't seen this bow, so I don't know the whole story, but yes Obama should have bowed. Why not? It's like asking should the Emperor shake hands with Obama if he visits the US. Of course he should. It's called politeness, but it's not for me to suggest that the reason so many Americans are objecting is because they don't possess that quality. I'll leave that for people to judge for themselves.
(Note that I said 'so many', not all or most.)
Just as well there's no emperor of dogland for Obama to visit, isn't it.

Are they crazy? Why does she have to go along? To hold his hand? Do they really think they'll report within 7 days? This is a couple of scammers. Odds are they'll disappear. If not, maybe she should be deported. Japan would surely deport a foreigner for something like this.

Jacky1289, didn't you learn after the first failure?
And Alargo is obviously referring to the wrong case, as his words have no similarity to the story behind this article whatsoever. And perhaps he should be careful before suggesting that the Japanese women who go to America or elsewhere are told to do it because they're nuts. He has no evidence to support this and is blatantly being racist.
Bwahaha indeed. Although maybe not for the same reasons as Presto. The US ordering any injunctions against Japan would basically throw all the progress since WWII out of the window. The US military could/should be summarily kicked out, forcing Japan to transform it's ridiculed SDF into a military capable of fighting back if attacked. They'd probably have to introduce conscription into the military as standard too, or they wouldn't have enough.
If the US insist on having the woman, Japan can change it's mind about charging the man and insist on an exchange. Would that do the kids any good?

This story really does get worse with each new report.
Leave Ichihashi to starve himself to death, this is more important than giving him a trial. Someone is out there who likes to do this sort of thing. Will they at some point decide they want to do it again? Probably, but the fact that once might keep them high for a few years is too remote to gamble on.
Anyway, who says such psychos have to be single? The Yorkshire Ripper was married, and his wife didn't have clue about his blood-fests. Not in the same league as this sicko of course, but anyone can hide things from the unsuspecting. And who says it's a man? Or that it's one person? I could be any number of people, of any gender. Look at the woman opposite you on the train. How can you be sure she's not capable of doing this? Alone or with one or more assistants?

Burakumindes,
Yes, I know lol. But it really annoys me the way some here keep saying that the money should be given to the Hawkers, or some charity or other. It's none of their business, although I hope at least some of it does end up in one or both of those places. But the point is that if the people who helped with info are awarded some of the money, it's up to them, and them only, to decide what to do with it.
Hell, maybe they'll all say they'd like it donated somewhere and refuse to accept a penny. Or maybe they'll grab it with both hands and use it to make their life better, or a relatives, or use it to pay for a life-saving operation for a relative or friend - you see what I'm saying? No-one here knows about the people who might eventually be awarded the money, yet some people are assuming that they don't need this money for anything important and SHOULD hand it over to something approved of by them. Hawkers or charity in other words. These people should try being grateful that the evil scum is off the streets at last and stop moaning. (Is it ok to insult Ichihashi on here? I know it's against the rules to insult most people, but really, Ichihashi is surely an exception?)

Combinibento! How can you suggest such a thing? It's criminal and almost as disgusting as when people say "I didn't know it was against the law to steal knickers from the washing line, so I can't be prosecuted." Of course people should get any reward for what they do, even if they didn't know about it. If you handed in a wallet with 2 million yen to the cops and the owner collected it, would you refuse the reward they might offer you just because you didn't know about it in advance?
People here seem to be split about whether the cosmetic surgery clinic should have reported him before. But as many have pointed out, he'd already had lots of surgery, including on his eyes, so he actually didn't look anything like Ichihashi. Nothing short of a long shot that someone noticed the slight resemblance IMHO, and if they hadn't grassed him up he'd still be free, with his new conk, maybe in Okinawa maybe not. But he sure as hell wouldn't be kept awake all night while the cops try to get him to confess all the details.
As I said before, 50% or so to the clinician for getting the ball rolling, 40% or so to the ferry person, and around 10% to the colleague for confirming that it was definitely Ichihashi.

Says on Mainichi that he was trying to board a ferry.
That doesn't sound much like he handed himself in, but who knows, if he walked into a large number of cops and felt the game was up maybe he did turn himself in to them?

I hate hellhounds. They should have a special room for them, where they can lock them up.
I hate people who splutter and sniffle or snort all the time. They shouldn't be allowed on the plane.
People who allow their belongings or their body parts to stick out into the aisle. Then they glare at you when you brush against them while trying to squeeze past.
People who get merry. (That means a bit drunk JT so don't get all hot and bothered.)
People who stagger around with a boiling hot cup noodle in their hand.
Or hot drinks.
People who open windows. I don't care if they like it, I wish BA would make the beggars shut them.
And also I hate it when there too many passengers. I like my flights to have at least a couple of spare seats in case of problems.

I normally have my 2 year old with me, and I don't speak Japanese, so my reaction would have to be determined by other circumstances.
If there was barely anyone around, I'd pretend not to notice him. I'd try to remember his clothing and general appearance and make a note of it at the first opportunity. I'd get my hubby to call the cops later, because no matter what anyone claims I'd bet they'd never have an English speaker available when you need one.
If there were many people around, I'd make sure we were at least a few metres away from him and then I'd shout his name J-style "Ichihashi Tatsuya!" and point. If he ran it'd surely be certain it was him. If he came for us I'd try to put a few Japanese people in between us and him. If he just looked somewhat surprised it'd probably be someone else anyway but I'd let the Japanese deal with it.

What a sicko. If he can do that to a horse, what (and who) else is he capable of abusing? I fail to see why some people think it's funny, I wonder what they'd do if they found a weirdo buggering their pet cat, dog, rabbit, or whatever? Just because a horse is big doesn't mean it deserves such treatment. If he ever goes near a horse again, I hope it kicks him in the head. Hard.

I am not religious at all, but I think the EU is sticking it's nose right in where they have no business.
In an article I read earlier, one muslim student was interviewed and she said she takes no notice of the crosses and sees no point in having them removed. At no point has a muslim caused this problem, so please don't point the finger at them. It was one woman, non-muslim.
France is a prime example of a country which ignores EU directives unless they like them, so I recommend that Italy does the same. If the EU gets snotty, threaten to leave. Don't tell me it's impossible, if a country decides to leave the EU there's bog all anyone can do to stop them. It's time someone told the EU where to get off.

Rodney King, the sort of comment I'd expect to find on here. But you're not using your brain. She was stabbed in the back. Try it yourself, it's not likely to fool the cops.
I hope the poor little mite survives without any permanent problems. What a sick pig that man was. I agree wholeheartedly with Bambigirl, why didn't he start with himself? Then it would just have been the wife finding his body and calling the cops. Shocking for her, but not as shocking as this.

Northlondon the kids were not eating their own food in the supermarket, and it was one kid and a parent.
If someone took photos of someone else's meal in a London restaurant the odds are fists would fly. Hell, people have been murdered for less rudeness. Imagine having some git shove his or her camera right in front of your face while you're trying to eat. The only way they could behave worse is if they were taking a picture of the person and not the meal.
Ishikawa's fans are perhaps rather great in number, and as someone said professional photographers only shoot after the shot so they don't put him off with the noise of their shutters. But why the hell are those people allowed to break the rules? Chuck 'em out! Or confiscate their phones 'til the end of the game. You can't let idiots rule your life like a bunch of 2 year olds trying to prove they're superior to the parents. Make 'em behave or kick 'em out.
