    My wife used to be a hostess when she was younger. She made tons of cash. Her other options, as only a high school graduate where nearly zilch. Now, the foreign housewifes on this site all probably went to college but how about the strippers in the US. I went to a Dallas strip club at about 11 PM on a Wednesday night and it was packed. This was so depressing. I would rather get a prostitute rather than spending wasted cash in strip clubs. Hostess bars are OK depending on the pay scale. I think there is no difference between these women and strippers who sit next to you begging for a table dance.

    You are living in Japan because of UK's involvement in a war? Do you really expect us to believe that?

    I think Bush was a horrible president. But going to prison is a little extreme.

    Waterboarding - let's pretend you have two choices. 1). Waterboard and get vital information regarding a bombing which a releative of yours will be killed. or 2). do nothing and let it happen. Honestly, do you choose #2 on higher moral standings even though a nut packed a bomb (WITH NAILS) and blows up a restaurant.

    I am not for torture but it is a thin fence here. These are not normal people we are dealing with.

    He basically paid extortion money to her with the understanding that he be allowed to see his kids. In Japan, Japanese fathers can too see their children if they pay enough. But in this case she then left. She got the money and he does not get to see the kids. I would never pay a lump sum settlement. All alimony/child support would be based on her allowing me to see the kids.

    michael- this has to be the stupidest comment i have ever seen. You want 5 years for a guy who just wants to see his kids.
    maybe you should read the article first. she did the same thing to him.

    I have already tol my wife that if we go back to the US and she pulls this sh*t then I will make everyone, including her family pay. Of course, this is just a fake threat but if you say it seriously enough it may give her second thoughts.
    of course the best option in divorce, if she wants to go back to Japan, would be to give the wife custody in japan and let the kids travel to see day for a few months of the year.

    you can get discounts on some of these schools now. I spent the last two months researching and finally found one. there are so many hidden costs that you really have to do your homework. for example, negotitate fees for a second, third child in advance.
    i sent my son because i wanted him to learn english considering he is already speaking japanese with his jmother. plus, have you ever seen jkids at the park? they are so afraid of playing with other children. not sure if they learn this in jschools or not but it sure is odd. my son tries to play with foreign kids and usually they all play together. jkids run to mommy.

    yes, you may choose the man for IQ but men choose woman for many other reasons. don't be blind to it. A man may be in love with an overweight woman or a smart woman he can talk to. but he really wants to have sex with a slimmer one.
    if my wife got fat i would divorce her. this would indicate that she did not respect my feelings. i am not fat for her and she has no excuse to get fat for me.

    I think the man, not the woman loses interest. There are many options out there to help relieve himself. But couples should still try at least once a month or so. What about Saturday or Sunday? Of course, weekdays are too too difficult but a good Saturday afternoon lovefest works.

    The one thing that confuses me is how the west claim to have so much sex in their marriage. Please tell me how you can get excited havcing sex with overweight people. How can you get interested in that? Is that love? If so, I am in big trouble because no amount of love can keep me interested in my overweight wife if there is a slim jwoman willing.

    sad but true.

    For what? For not having to go back there in 5-10 years when they start building suicide camps again. Or, for when they move into Pakistan and start taking over.

    And for those who say leave please provide an alternative? head in sand approach? not sure if you remember but this is where the suicide camps were located.

    The problem with golf in Japan is that it takes up your whole day. 1.5 hours to drive there. 7 hours to play a round (because the Japanese spend excessive time on the greens) and another 1.5 to get home.
    In addition, most good courses require lunch be taken and you cannot get a tee off past 11 in the morning.

    if they had twighlight here i think more would play. but golf is geared towards the rich oijisan and his crew.

    I am not an expat. However, i stil want to live in a normal sized apartment with my wife and 2 kids. not a 60 m2 place where we are all cramped. this is why the average japanese salary man pretends to work long hours. who wants to go home early where you have no private time to relax right after work?
    plus, i want a car where i don't have to pay an extra 500 bucks a month parking. do you get parking free in saitama? or, I bet you don't have a car right?

    I doubt there was no light. There is no right on red in Japan. The car was making a right and the mom/kid were crossing. So, either the driver blew a red light which is doubtful or there was no light and the driver missed seeing the kid.

    and, of course, if you hit something you know it.

    how do you know they are miserable? are you dr. doolittle?

    Let's say you are a lion. You can go hunt every day or get food brought to you each day. I watch quite a bit of the Animal Planet and the big cats often go days without a kill.

    Now, on the other hand, let's say you are the prey of a big cat. Are you happy to roam free in the open country only to have to worry about being killed every single second?

    most animals think of two things; food and sex. at a zoo they get both. so, while it make take them out of natural habitat they at least get to live their lives with their most important requirements.

    zoos are great. the ueno zoo is quite good, especially for kids.

    First, you have to take kids on planes at any age and it makes no difference about ears. The rule is after 3 months you can fly. Second, of course parents feel the pain that the other passengers do. We don't want to be there and don't want a screaming child. the only relaxation we get is when the child finally falls asleed and then the stupid fool next to me turns on his light to play on his laptop.
    To me these people are the msot annoying. get over yourself and put the laptop down.

    Honestly, these guys are 21. Can't you remember when you were that age and did some pretty stupid stuff. 21 year olds get drunk and look for girls in any country. except those guys that never had a chance. these are the guys i am assuming to be on this site.

    simple question to japanese taxpayers. do you want to change your constituion and rearm your military including billions of yen in defense budgets? Or, continue to pay the US a fraction of that cost and put up with their presense in Japan/

    4 years of riches with a guy who does even understand the mess his party caused? and comparing debating between obama and mccain? mccain makes bush look like socrates. mccain and his redneck partner will both be crushed int he debates. but that does not matter to racists and people who still think bush is doing a good job. it is just amazing that anyone could think the gop has done a good job. plus, you are not praising mccain when 4 years ago the gop hated him. and size you paint all democrats as liberals i will paint you as a religious right freak who talks about morals but then gets caught in a stall solicitn gax sex or a dope fiend limbaugh.
