Well last week in the publicity lesson at my school we were talking about that.
lately japanese commercial are not so good as it was.
I prefer old japanese commercials, the new one are boring, or copying others CM...there is no originally in japan and i would like they sometimes try to make a serious CM, they only have funny CM with funny characters, stories...etc.
I love JR old CM, Shiseido 60's CM...etc.
But i love the new Shiseido One CM the "shuu, shuu" CM

The fat guy who like a woman...maybe you don't know but there are many people around the world like him. Anyway, she's a famous comedian in Japan actually, and it's a good image for the commercial i think. Maybe you prefer have a girl showing her bones on TV...
In Japan, they don't think if he/she is gay or not, they think is funny see a guy acting like a girl..etc, maybe like in your country 10 years ago (well actually i don't where do you live...). Japan has a little quite old thinking about gay and their world. They think there's only gay outside (in foreigns countries, not in Japan), they even haven't any laws to help gay people..etc.
Softbank commercials...the actual ones are boring yeah, i prefer SMAP softbank commercial, are funnier.

Well i.m a spanish guy who have lived in japan for more than 2 years. At first time it was so difficult don.t kiss someone when in our first meeting or for greetings but actually i must to admit every time a foreigner kiss me in the cheek i feel weird. It.s not like i hate it but i feel uncomfortable...

KansaiMan you.re soooo wrong XDD Many japanese see prostitution as a job, and they won.t quit their job in a host/hostess club for work 12 hours in a restaurant for that money, i will promise. I think you don.t know anything about this world (prostitution world) and you talk because....well really i don.t know what you give your opinion you.re so wrong...

Well....you.re doing the same talk as always... We (gay people) had many problems (and actually we still have) to be accepted in the society, i had many problems working at Tower Records (japanese say they accept it but they don.t do, of course there is exceptions). I don.t hate people who use make up and put clothes as a woman if they feel good like that, they choose it, and if they feel good and free in that shape, they should to do, is it wrong? But i understand your point, you.re not saying "don.t do that" you.re saying "ok you can do it, but fight for your rights!!!" and i.m with you. I don.t like when people do The Gay Parade as a carnival. That.s not a carnival is a day to say everyone "hey, we.re gay but we.re human, respect us!" Actually, i would love to get married with my bf which i.ve been dating for more than 2 years but that government don.t still accept that right so i must to do my best, be patient but i want to do something to get it faster... But the problem in japan is japanese don.t fight for anything...they think all is ok, and the people who don.t like any law..etc they don.t fight or only do their best to go to another countries. So much people of you say "why you guys must to say "i.m gay, i.m lesbian" i will say why! Because you can meet someone, become his/her best friend and when you feel like you can say or you can talk about it that people say "i.m sorry i don.t like gay people" and it hurts so much, so from the first time i say "i.m gay" so if that person don.t accept me i don.t need to put my effort to become his/her friend, only that.

XDDD, its. really funny because there are strict laws for straight prostitution but there isn.t any law for gay prostitution (well there no law focus on gay people in japan...so sad ><)

I don.t understand you guys...you.re in japan but you hate many things...maybe you should to live in your "lovely and perfect place where you were born". Anyway it.s an opinion and we have freedom to say it, so it.s ok for me but my opinion it.s totally different from yours. I love Japan, and there are expensive, cheaper, good/bad services, but it.s really cheap, they.re so nice, they help me all time...I prefer Japan to my own country Spain.

I hate that kind of stuff!! I.m happy than in my country; Spain they prohibited bullfight in Barcelona and Canary Island, it.s a stupid event! Only primitive guys like it....boring

-You usually cannot order your food the way you like. (Why not? I am paying for it though) Where do you eat? If you go to mcdonnals you won.t have that kind of services but in any steak restaurant you can say "well done"..etc and they will do, and they will ask if it.s ok for you...etc.
-Having small conversations with customers (to establish some rapport which is helpful in making customers feel comfortable and at ease) Do you want to flirt with the staff or eat? Japan it.s not Friday.s all time.
-Since Japanese waiter/waitresses earn and hourly wage and not receive any tips, why should they ultimately care how you feel, they get paid regardless, which means, NO incentive. It depends of the waiter/waitress, but think about they.re workers not your family.
-Not always good at handling customer complaints. You.re right about that, have you tried to talk with the manager? they understand your problem more than waiter/waitress will do.
-Not all establishments taking Credit Cards. Huge problem! This is the 21st century and cash is slowly becoming less irrelevant. What and how can many traveling foreigners pay if they cannot use Travelers checks, Credit or Debit cards. Again...where do you go to eat?
-Not sensitive to religious or dietary customs: Kosher, Halal, Vegan etc. All places in US does? i don.t think so.
-No window quality grading system (as in the states) How do we know which restaurant passed the FDA guidelines for safety, health, cleanliness. Do you feel like you.re going to be killed by anybody in Japan?

Branded...i will be clear..that.s not your country. Don.t try to compare it. -the shouting of "irashaimase" as you walk through the door ? Well it.s "irasshaimase". As you know it means "Welcome", in my opinion that.s not annoying.
-the lack of small talk or any hint of personality throughout the seating or ordering process ? How much do you need to talk with them? are you going to eat or flirt?
-the fact they never know who ordered what and must ask ? What kind of places do you go to eat?
-that they never check on your order once it's presented to your table ? I repeat, where do you go to eat?
-that you must tell them to fill your water or coffee cup again and again and again ? And again, and again, where do you go to eat?
-requests for substitutions result in teeth sucking and mouth breathing noises, followed by a quick run into the kitchen to find out if its possible- most times its not ! It depends of the restaurant but in saizeria or jonathan for example they changed it.
-being seated as close to the only other guests in the restaurant as possible ? Is it a really problem? Focus on your partner and in your conversation.

Japan have the best services not only in restaurants, where you will receive the best services, don.t care if it.s the Ritz Hotel or Saizeria, also in shops, i usually feel like i.m some kind of prince XD, they treat me so good. By the way where do you go to eat a burger for 10000 yen? You can buy it for 500 yen in Mcdonals xD. And Branded if you want a good services like America you can do 3 things: 1st: return to America, 2nd: Go to some American Restaurant in Roppongi, 3rd:try to find a better place.
Japan is the best place in the world to live, i only hate rental house system...only that XD.

I.ve tried many times to get a visa card...all were denied...but it.s ok i will try one day...again..

In my opinion, Okinawa people are japanese, don.t care what kind of history stuff they had or whatever. Okinawa have the best singers, actors...etc and they.re soooo cheerful and nice people, so different from Tokyo or Osaka people. But Amuro Namie changed so much since she did her debut...she looks a different woman, i don.t think her family can recognize her XD.

I hate japanese monarchy. i remember the first time i went to meet them in January First event. They went out, talk stupid stuff like "we are in a big economic crisis, please do your best....thank you" and i was so dissapointed thinking..."only that?? are you saying only that"...boring. I prefer my country monachy, spain has the best king and queen of the world (it.s my opinion ok? XD) and they talk with all people (don.t care if you have money or not) they.re so nice and they.re doing their best (of course they have many mistakes and they steal population money as any monarchy, but well we can.t do anything about that right?).

thanks god, because i.m gay and i won.t have any kind of woman problem, yeah! XD Anyway looks like you guys are suffering so much about japanese woman..are they that bad?... I.m dating with a japanese man and we don.t need one of us controlled the money...he has his money and I have mine... I don.t know why you allow your wives controlled the family money...so weird...

Anyway you can search a 0/0 rent so you don.t need to pay any reikin or something like that. I pay 93000 yen for a new apartment in a mansion 1K, 24m2, in Nakanofujimichou area (10 minutes in train from shinjuku). I can speak not perfect japanese, i only have the 2kyuu (actually N2) but it.s better than if you only can speak english or another foreign language. But for example my 2 years contract will be finish in august and it.s supposed i must pay another rent fee.. Anyway fudousanyasan (rent office people) lie so much, so you must to be careful if you are thinking about to move to another place...etc. There are good offices but there are another offices that...no comment. And yeah i receive many answers as "no foreigners" until i found my house. but the first time i moved to my first house, they helped me with all the electric, gas staff activation...becasue i.m not good at understanding japanese by phone, i appreciated so much
