Well, there's hardly any wood burning stoves in Japan, but I'd like to see all of those soot-emitting diesel dump trucks around Japan retooled. They are too loud and too dirty. I wonder if joining this campaign will result in any positive changes like that.
Isn't biodiesel cleaner than regular diesel? Perhaps those dump trucks should be required to use alternative fuels such as cooking grease.

How about spending $1.1 million dollars instead on planting new trees? If that tree dies then sections of it could be auctioned off to raise money for reconstruction. $1.1 million dollars is too much to spend on any one tree.

Shocking. Who would buy fish or anything from Fukushima? Who in their right mind would want to fish down there either? The central government should help relocate the fishermen and their families (and i guess everyone else too) to safer parts of Japan. The nuclear crisis even it over yet.

I say forego all nuclear power and learn to live with less electricity for a while. The people of Fukushima probably agree with that.

Number plates are for vehicles with engines, not bicycles. Every country in the world agrees with that. If Japan wants safer roads for cyclists, they need to realize that only dedicated cycling lanes will achieve that. Imagine all the extra bureaucracy that will be necessary when purchasing a bicycle. Oh, it's a scheme for the central government to make more tax money off of its citizens. Now I get it.

Yes, I've also considered smokers weak people. Japan is still a smoker's paradise, so I'd rather stay at home and enjoy a meal there than have to breathe in second-hand smoke. It is horrible how Japan encourages children to smoke through product placement, not asking for ID, and advertising aimed at youth. Another of Japan's many problems.

best to head out to an onsen for a bath for a while. A hot spring that is 100% pure, not recycled with regular water. Hope they find the criminal company responsible this! We've got enough to worry about besides more evil companies destroying our precious environment.

That's an easy target. Start with all the advertising, such as the huge outdoor monitors and sound systems in every Japanese city, and turn off unnecessary lighting everywhere, such as the super-bright store interiors (convenience stores etc.) Change all your home lightbulbs to LEDs and turn off the electrical breaker for any room or rooms that aren't in use. Most importantly, adopt a permanent two hour Daylight Saving Time because sunrise here is at 4:00 a.m. in the summer. A later sunset equals less electrical use for lights and more. Why are the Japanese so against that?
