Hey, I didn't know this and I always watch NHK's special news feature, warning unsuspecting travellers of impeding danger. Maybe they can expand on this and list these dangerous joints. I do have heard though about these places in Roppongo where they charge(d) you 150.000 yen for a bottle of ordinary booze. Guess they refined their MO, so they don't have to deal with their "angry" clientele anymore.

How about using a search machine? www.tsukaeru.net/ in Japanese or www.tsukaeru.net/en/ in English.

Actually, according to the news at least, this car barreled into a rather narrow one-way street, where this mom and kid happened to be walking. This driver would have hit anyone unlucky enough to be in that particular spot. I take a stroll through the city every evening and some drivers just don't give a hoot, especially taxi drivers. I've been hit once and nowadays I just hide behind a utility pole when I hear a speeding car approaching. As for the driver having heard nothing, I doubt that. The other day I heard a loud bang. Cat being hit by a car. You would notice hitting a child, but as I read often in the news, when people are supposed to take responsibility for their actions, they just run away.

Pretty sad. What a weasels. Anyway, it's common knowledge that Aoki's clothing, all or part of it, is made in North Korea. Guess that as long as it's cheap, people don't care too much where it comes from.

However, the police have been trying to discourage us.

Maybe these people are lumped together with pigeons and stray cats now?

What's next, they are going to report the crime before actually doing it? It just shows that alcohol is a far more dangerous drug than a little bit of wacky tobaccy.

Which manga featured this hentai act I wonder. A 36 year old man. Hopeless case. Perhaps inflicting pain on this loser might set him straight.

I'm disappointed that JT doesn't mention that it concerns a foreign made bus. NHK did. And no less the second foreign made bus that went up in flames.

Ok, so that must have been it. That the Japanese can't serve Guinness. When I took a sip I tought: this is how pi@@ must taste. You learn something everyday. For the rest, nice blokes those Irish, when they stay sober.

Yes, there was a flurry of activity going on all over Japan. Notably the mayors of Nagasaki and Hiroshima, as well as the various citizens groups were all up early this morning to respec. write letters and plan protests. Not.

Many years ago, applying for a credit card at my bank, I was told they could only issue me one if I had permanent residency. It was easier to get my permanent resident visa, than a credit card from my bank. However, at the time, Nicos gladly issued me one without all the hassle. Last year I opened a new bank account and they asked me if I wanted a VISA credit card with the new account. Only had to show my drivers license.

Where is anti-furist Sugimoto Aya when you need her. Maybe she can slap and spank some sense into this guy.

Moron seems a bit harsh, unless he is one of those drivers flaunting every traffic rule in the book. Gullible, yes. He even paid the restaurant bill for this guy, twice.

Seems this guy has an MO that pays off...

Kawamoto owns dozens of office buildings in Tokyo under the name Marugen and has been buying and selling real estate in Hawaiʻi and California since the 1980s, and has been accused of making money by driving real estate values down by various methods without respecting the current owners, buying them out and then selling them when the price increased.

He has been criticized for evicting tenants of his rental homes on short notice so he could sell the properties, as in 2002 when he gave hundreds of California tenants 30 days to leave.

Two years later, he served eviction notices to tenants in 27 Oʻahu rental homes, mostly in pricey Hawaiʻi Kai, saying they had to leave within a month. He said he wanted to sell the houses to take advantage of rising prices.

Some neighbors are unhappy with Kawamoto's plan, speculating that he is trying to drive down real estate values so he can snap up even more homes.

I don't think he worries too much about who supports him. He is still making a cool 1.450.000 yen a month, which is just 50.000 yen less than being the chairman.

It was just a tit-for-tat for what happened with Kosovo and the fact that Georgia is cosy with the "west". Of course souvereign countries have the right which side they want to choose, but bearing in mind the nature of the Russian government, suspicious about anything, more prudence should have been observed. Also, these Russian "peace keepers" in South-Ossetia did nothing to contain those bands of rebels hitting on Georgians living there. Besides, these two regions in Georgia are autonomous, but nevertheless still a part of Georgia. The people of Cheznya were also so eager about becoming a part of Russia (again), that they fought two wars about it...

Yosun, don't know why you mention the MLB. The US team that participated in the Olympics was comprised of the following: 14 players currently playing at AAA-level, 7 players at AA-level, 1 at A-level and 1 at collegiate level. An ex pitcher, now a regular on a tv program, mentioned this morning that it "would be an easy win since this is a low level team". That might be so, but they still managed to win against what was supposed to be a Japanese dream team.

Ouch, ouch, double ouch! That must hurt. Well, this morning they mentioned on tv the US team as "reberu hikui kara zettai ni katteru" and I thought that to be a bit premature to say the least. Anyway, great effort from these minor league players.

Ouch, ouch, double ouch! I felt sorry for the players when seeing their faces, especially Iwase when he was pulled from the mound. Well, there is still the bronze, so go for it. And anyway, as Hoshino will have told you many times, competing in the Olympics is more important than winning! Or something to that extent.
