The lack of rubbish bins is great, because everyone have to handle their own litter and take it home, also in countries which have public bins often get smelly allies, flies and all sorts of bloody things dumped everywhere. Regarding the benches, I believe the lack of them is to promote consumption at cafes such as Tully's, Starbucks ,etc... it's hard to find a place outdoors to eat your home made sandwich-obento or to have a chat with a friend while enjoying the weather.

Try to calm the kid talking about what's bothering him, if that fails and the kid is perfectly healthy parents should then wear earplugs and eventually the ignored crying kid will stop... sorry for the rest of the passengers but there's not much to be done.

Sony had it all at some point to be better than apple, they had experience making Sony ericsson phones, proper digital cameras, great sound systems, tvs and average pcs, they realized to late they could be better, now they have a long way to catch up with ipads and iphones. and whatever they proposed, forget to call it Walkman, it's too 80's and it reminds people Jurassic tapes, if they can produce some ipod-like player in which you can play for free music videos and films from Sony entertainment and p2p files without having to pay to itunes and to anyone. 'cuz FREE is the new black we are in the cheapo era and then sony will crack it

It doesn't surprise me some kids cannot be detached from their handheld consoles but adults are the same. I've been hit by Japanese teens riding bicycles while writing text messages on their cellphones, same thing for the oyajis driving huge white sedans while smoking and talking on the cellphone, is not about manners its about H&S.

Some of the older Japanese adults have no conscious about climate change, or environmental issues, they are like predators, they just want to own things and sport branded goods with very cheesy big logos, and throw away and buy new things, and they believe they are moving the economy by doing that. as for Japanese young people carry on in whatever you want to be, if Japan is in decadence is not because of you, Japan had its 15 minutes in economy and the oyajis didn't save but bought Valentino dishes and huge sedans instead... May be Japan will have a chance again in 100 years.
