Japanese have to be careful in Rome. I use to go there all the time with my gf and when I was not with her she use to get hassled all the time. Funny enough it seems to happen in Rome a lot obviously because it is a major tourist destination but it is because the Japanese dont stand up for themselves and walk around with their LV bags half open.

I agree with a lot of the postings here concerning the girls, whilst the men definitely need some type of sentence as they should know better, the girls in Japan need to grow up and realise that there body is part of their soul - yes probably a little too deep but all these news clips give the impression that that they treat the two separately - if I have ever have girls they will definitely not be educated in Japan. SIGH

I personally think if you really want to fix this - get young people better socialised like in the West where (and maybe someone can correct me here of whether it occurs in Japan or not as I dont have kids) kids go to dances and things like that. A lot of this here has to do with adults not being well adjusted. Lets fix the root of the problem. I am a big fan of Japan having lived there for such a long time but this type of thing needs to really stop. In that regard I wish Japan would just open its mind and not just its door to the newest gadgets or toys. SIGH.

I have to say from an international perspective it would be more significant if they visited Pearl Harbour and layed a wreath there. I dont know the facts about Punchbowl but Pearl Harbour would garnish more press for the Royal family and go some way to addressing the war.
I wonder if they will stop at LV in Waikiki...the Empress must be really looking forward to this (if she can escape her minders for 5 minutes).

Wow in all my time in Japan I have never heard of this one - gropers, molesters, keitai pervs etc sure but this is new. How ironic would it be if this group targeted by accident once of the crazies that exist in Japan - that would give the husband or wife who planned this a definite wake up call - the predator becomes the prey!

One thing is not wanting to work another thing is wasting other peoples time which I think this is what it comes down to. Fine if you dont want to work but dont make an appointment and not try. Thats just immature. As for rebellion, they're not rebelling. If they want to rebel - leave Japan or leave home, go and do something that your parents dont want you to do. It all just smacks of laziness to me. If future generations are all coming out like this then Japan is really going to have some tough problems.

I have to agree with stirfry someone should have tried to save him but you know 30 people is a large party and that water is probably pretty murky so you can imagine the poor guy in his black/grey suit in that water after a few ichibans....sad way to go...

Sounds like a pretty cool cram teacher - probably made him relaxed. I wonder what his student pass rate was? Probably better than some cigarette-beer swilling oji san.

I have to say that in Asia, teens tend to be less mature mentally than their western counterparts - there is almost a fatalistic attitude to things like rejection. It probably comes from the confucian philospohy of withholding or not necessarily wanting to rock the boat so to speak. I have experienced this typ of thing not only in Japan but in HK, Singapore and Korea.

Actually Moon Bloodgood is pretty ok in the movie. The movie is not bad, remember the sequel of the storyline the director had to work with.
