1 - this is one style of Japanese humour. Probably a lesson for today's japanese politicians, who can't put one phrase together without sounding stupid. Graduated from Tokyo or Keyo Dai, no less... 2 -It's not that the program is wrong in stating that hitler was a master orator, one of the "best" public speaker the world has actually even seen. He was capable of hypnotizing his audience, to the point where they were blindly putting logic aside and started following him to self destruction and mass murder of others (and this is the proof). The whole loss of human life, destruction and ruin the world has seen during the WWII happened mostly because hitler knew how to lead his people towards his criminal goals. The program pointed these facts as well

What goes through their heads doing that to such a small child?

Nothing... I have a very good idea of what SHOULD go (or pass) through their head as a punishment though... This kind of people, with such heavy lack of compassion for a fellow human being (never mind it being their own offspring), are better removed for good from the society. Society itself benefits nothing from keeping such monsters alive and feeding them in a prison, only to release them some years later.

I guess he's never heard of the Palace Run and never wondered why there are always so many runners there.

The popular believe among my Japanese colleagues is that the runners are allowed to run there because they will filter out all the particles and heavy pollution from the air with their own lungs, thus making the air more enjoyable for the Emperor... Of course, this is just a rumour : wink wink...

saru_au - unless you lived under a rock you would already know that companies sell at a loss as soon as the exchange rate falls too much under 100Y/USD. Here you have a clear example of it.

And the naive California gov. wanted to buy stuff fro these guys... How stupid can one be to believe even the shortest phrase uttered by any Chinese official? How stupid must a government be to even consider purchasing this system from the Chinese?

Japan - EXTREMLY SAFE - no passenger died by accident in many many years of usage, could safely stop even while being hit by 0.3-0.4g shock waves of the 3/11 quake... Europe - Fairly unsafe - they lost many passengers and the trains are not running reliably (often not on time, etc) China - What a joke :)) - don't ride on them unless you like Russian Roullette.

For the obvious reason, I never ever buy anything made in China. I am sure the rules have been heavily bent while making that (every) product.

It's the biggest passenger plane out there so it's more affected by crosswinds.

Amazing how many pilots with vast experience on the A380 are on this forum... Even the student pilot with no flight yet knows that the opposite of what you just said is true...

I've had whale and it tastes really good, Mine was a kind of stew, and tasting like veal (or maybe beef)... In fishing villages on the Pacific Coast of Chib a(Kujukuri) it can be bough in gift shops canned or smoked... What I'm sure of is that the Japanese whalers do not take enough whales right now to have a significant impact on their ecosystem. As they are not that threatened any longer, I am not against hunting then in small numbers.

Typical of Japan though. To get a technological innovation from overseas, which has already undergone rigorous testing in several countries, but Japanese management will literally pick this plane apart and test every single component! Seen it happen with computer servers in a company I used to work at, where the foreign owner of that company eventually had to put his foot down and start the servers himself

A bit out of topic, but definitely not typical of Japan. Every developed country, and moreso every big company that handles and puts billions at risk will test the equipment they use before allowing it to be used. What if a server "Made in China" suddenly blows and ruins the banking data for 1 million customers? Having additional testing before allowing it to be used is never bad, especially in aerospace and automotive. Remember, people have died because there was a 2mm crack somewhere, sometimes...

The problem with 3D is that not every movie looks as good as Avatar did (and Avatar only looks good on IMAX). So it's generally well justified that people see it as gimmick.

On the other hand I will definitely see Avatar's sequels (in 3D and IMAX), they announce to be even better than the original (if it's even possible)...
