There will soon be more android phones than iPhones in Japan. I think is quite dangerous to exclusively support apple products, as somebody else will implement it sooner or later for Android as well.

loveinjapan - I can't believe this is the first time you heard about Shindo scale in 7 years in Japan. It is always specified, whenever there is an earthquake, and it's as important and revealing as the Magnitude (and even more revealing, if you are interested about the effect, not the source of the quake)...I believe the whole world could use this scale to quickly evaluate damages...

My cat absolutely loves CABBAGE or hakusai (I'm not joking here :) ).. and she eats about one leaf/day. That's it for the myth that cats don't eat veggies...
She gets dry food for cats, and she improves it herself with a fresh nice live sparrow or mouse once in a while...

If one can do this to a dog, one will have no problem doing the same or worse to a human.

Stop going to MosBurger or MCCrapnalds people... Usually in those places (operated by 'baito highschoolers who don't know how to wipe their noses) the service is automated (that is push a button, get the cup filled, with a volume pre-set). They can't control the amount they can serve you, and that's it.
If you go to small places, nice restaurants, coffee&cake shops they will do anything in their power to serve you as you wish...
And yes, one can complain when the beer glass is half full - and usually they will repair the mistake.

As a Latin guy I have absolutely no problems with either kisses and hugs. Be careful though, as the flu season has barely begun (some people DO say it's better to catch it early). Japanese girls do seem to love it (but one has to demonstrate it first :)) )
Posted in: How do you feel when someone you are greeting wants to hug you or kiss you on the cheek? When is it appropriate and do you think the custom can be misinterpreted in some cultures, such as Japan, for example?
