During the 3/11 earthquake, i couldn't use DoCoMo for even basic phone calls, while my other phone, SoftBank, still worked. I didn't left Tokyo during that time. Many users had the same complaint, with phones not even registering to the network (no signal status). That tells a lot about DoCoMo quality in Tokyo.

Pizzaface - you should not be allowed to have a drivers license, for multiple reasons. It only takes 5 minutes to breastfeed a child, and usually they should sleep soundly after that. Every child will protest at first in the baby seat, but they get used to it pretty quickly. Just let them cry a bit, much better than killing them in an otherwise survivable accident.

Hong Kong feng shui master Anthony Cheng warned a “scandalous corruption case” would rock China in the second half of 2012

You don't have to be a Feng Shui Master in order to predict that... Any 4 year old will predict it as well...how about something less obvious?

Godan, I have one Sony TV made 3 years ago (X series - their most high end, luxury line), and I believe it is the best TV ever, by any company. To bad Sony lost it to Korean and Taiwanese competition. Sony has not made a single good TV since...

    Herefornow

Moody's is well-respected in the world financial community as literally billions of dolars ride on the ratings they give companies' bonds.

Well, how comes they are wrong most of the time?

How to make a bad article: Find an upcoming large event, like the Olympics. Find the most obvious scandalous topic, and "investigate" it. When investigation is not necessary, just write about it. The most painful about this is that the original author probably uses an Apple product (iPhone, iPod, also made by poorly paid workers in "Worker's paradise, China"), wears shoes made by Nike (just investigate how Nike used to treat their women employees in Indonesia) and drives a car running with blood oil from somewhere in the Middle East.

It is simply idiotic to focus on the stupid mascot only, while the complete outfits worn by most of the Olympics athletes are probably also made in China, Indonesia, Thailand, in bad working conditions for peanuts salary...

He is such a charismatic and smart person... I really hope he is recovering and in full power soon. Also, that cello looks like a very well played old instrument - must be worth a fortune. It always makes me feel good seeing such old instruments being played in large scale concerts...

It depends on the egg. I get mine for 298 yen for a pack of ten, because the birds at the farm selling them are naturally fed and I the eggs taste and look much better (red yellow yolk)than the cheaper ones. Some eggs have almost white tools,a clear sign the bird was but fed with healthy food.

Darren, there is nothing wrong with the endoscope, even if Olympus made it. 99.9% of the people there are hard working, honest employees.Olympus products (consumer, medical etc) are usually of very high quality...

Well, there are morons everywhere... Complaint #1: "I paid for a movie WITH sound.. Why can't I hear anything?"...

    Complaint #2:

"After seeing this movie, I got worried and visited the audiologist, costing me USD 500, just to find out that I am healthy... I am suing EVERYBODY AND THEIR GRANDMOTHERS for this."

The Japanese subway system is by far the best in the world... My only complaint is that they should hurry implementing the anti suicide gates to all lines and all stations...

The main gripe is that the servings are too small, so it costs more for people who eat a lot.

I pity such a person, as I am fairly sporty at 85Kg, 187cm, but almost never felt that the portion is too small. Plus, there are so many "tabehoudai" - "eat as much as you can" places of every kind (Japanese, Italian, Indian, etc, etc) of fairly high quality that this is also a non-issue...

2,000 yen for a piece of gift-wrapped fruit in Japan that might cost $2-3 in the U.S.

Bad writing - in US try buying the exquisitely gift wrapped fruit one can buy for 2000 Yen in Japan, and see how much will it cost (if you can, I bet you can't).

One can get 1kg of average apples for 3-400 Yen, or one can pay 5-800 Yen for a single apple of extraordinary quality (fully organic Sun-Fuji from the king flower, hand pruned and picked), gift wrapped. They DO taste better than the bland tasting, chemically grown apples one buys from an average supermarket.

The price range is so wide in Japan because the service range is also wide as well.
