Puckey2 -
you really have no idea don't you!?! I recommend you the movie "Our daily bread" (in Japanese "命の食べ方"). I admit I had no idea myself but this was an eye opener. 99% of the beef reaching the consumer's plates never sees any pasture and green grass...
Also if you would have to choose between a punch in you face once or twice a year or getting "humanely" killed in an instant what would you choose?

Even if it's not illegal, it must be very clearly specified in a dress-code rule (ex: wear a suit with necktie and appropriate attire, trim hair and beard and leave it at it's natural colour). If not specified the boss has no damn business making any comments - and yes, I lived here for almost a decade, so I know what I'm talking about, mm'kay?

I'm sure his job is not that good to make his business partners care about his blonde highlights and I think it's actually illegal in Japan to comment on the way one looks during work (please contradict if I'm wrong).
Now - there are jobs in Japan where one must look absolutely impeccable, and this means classy hair, suit, hand watch and shoes (among many others), and nope, no blonde, pink, green etc highlights. People out of those standards don't survive too long, even if the reason for firing them will not be "wears blonde highlights".

amannin - there are quite a lot of floats (guestimate of around 25-30?), all different and with very interesting designs - like a 3D Japanese traditional drawing. The flats are VERY mobile sometimes, being moved by tens of persons pushing them (and forming a team).

it's only a mater of good hydration - drink lots of liquids, wear clothes that allow sweating and cooling and absolutely wear a white hat (many accidents come from head overheating)

Comparison with North Korea is all fine, but the Romania of the 80's (especially after '85) was probably a much worse place to live than nowadays NK. The economy simply collapsed and the lack of everything would have been awful...

That beer look seriously mazuuui... (stall and bad tasting), which is a disgrace considering the price charged for it... How about paying attention to such details as well as not everybody wants to look at some chick's panties while drinking a beer...

I read this article TWO times (which took 10 minutes of my time, far more than it deserves)... and still have big problems seeing the point it tries to make,,
So which is it:
1 - Tall building somehow curse the countries that build them, causing economic collapses (a truckload of BS)
2 - Tall buildings are signs of arrogance? The persons saying this shows that he/she really has no clue. For ex. the Skytree is a sign of progress, being built out of necessity to support the upcoming digital broadcasting technologies - and one can not compare it with other far more useless projects.
3 - Other hidden messages, my humble mind can not see?!?
