Klein2 - I swim just in the middle of Kujukuri, where the Sotobo-line would touch the beach if it wouldn't curve towards South. It is a very nice black sand area - that's right one could easily walk 50-70 meters into the sea with no problems but if the wind is in the right direction, and on high tides you can find very strong currents even if from the shore everything looks nice.
It must be the gulf shape of the outside of the Boso peninsula, causing the water to "funnel" into Kujukuri beach

xpompey - even better if it would use the "Bujalani" in the same time with the vuvuzela - like this - blow the vuvuzela and balance a Lajubani on top of it to see if it cancels the sound out...

This is so more interesting than a moon landing... I tracked the Hayabusa's progress since even before it's launch, so it feels good it' finally back home. Let's hope for some nice results out of it...
For all that care, this guy made a nice graphical description of Hayabusa's Odyssey. It had some really bad moments as one can see. It's here: http://www.planetary.org/blog/article/00002535/

Kujukuri can have extremely strong currents and eddies, especially on high tides. I live nearby and very often swim in there (not yesterday but last week) and sometimes the current fells like a strong river parallel to the beach - not for the beginner swimmer...

Thorny issue here... Of course he will pay for killing his wife, but this will probably not solve anything. I'd say that this kind of mercy killings are the signs of a failing society.

societymike, hosrefella, you are both wrong - a modern (built in the last 10 years) car engine spends less than 5-10 seconds worth of fuel for startup, thanks partly to stronger starter motors, improved injection strategy and reduced friction.
If you are to idle the engine for more than 30 seconds you should just stop it...
read here - a very informative article: http://hiroshimagab.blogspot.com/2006/08/idling-vs-cutting-engine.html
I can't give my own data, but I indeed KNOW what I'm talking about, working exactly in this field...

Frungy - if your car (any car you can buy in Japan) is made in the past 10 years, if you are to idle it for more than 30 seconds it would be better to just shut the engine off. I KNOW what I'm talking about...

I just hate the fat truck driver idiots sleeping inside their trucks with the engine idling all the time. Nobody here seems to notice how bad this can be for the environment...

It is difficult to define "best" but if we talk about "technologically advanced" and "running on time" it is for sure Japan (although TGV and ICE are not THAT far away).
Japan's latest shinkansen train types are the most efficient and silent, and could be the fastest in a very reliable way, should the track allow it...
Every time I had to use the ICE there was a more than 5 min delay for a route not longer than 150 km.

fds - you can be sure the heli was discovered as soon as he took head towards the destroyer. Japanese helis should do the same :~) - flying so close to a big ship puts the helicopter atomatically at the mercy of that warship.
Unfortunately helicopters can not be captured without damaging them somehow...

sk4ek, the IMAX in Kawasaki is a true system (otherwise there's no way it can bear the logo)... I believe it was build from scratch, and it respects both the audio and the visual standards. Avatar looked very good on it

and people should have a very good look at Kabukiza, while it still stands - Every European would consider this a crime against his country, Japanese say just "Shouganai ne" - meaning they don't really care about destroying such interesting buildings.
