Even if Palin were the GOP's standard bearer in 2012, Obama is a shoo-in for re-election, as he will effectively use the power of his incumbency to win a second term. Palin’s star power won’t survive into 2012. Many brighter (!) GOP stars will emerge during the next 8 years.
