Why is cremation a topic for "lifestyle"?
Actually it sounds more like the opposite. In that sense, OFF Topic.

Let's read her quote again:
Basically, she is right. By the way she acts, it looks like she will not be a lover. Then, what remains, is - yes - the Mommy role. Simple as that.

Packy: Thanks for the link to the video. Indeed, she looks more like 47 than 37 years old. And also it looks like she is past her "best use before" date.

The small print on the poster It says "refrain from making calls."
It does NOT say "refrain from receiving calls."
In other words, receiving is OK.

Here is the answer:
The problem is not related to being with a Rucksack or heavy luggage in the train. The mentioned issues are:
1) putting the luggage on the floor instead of the overhead storage space.
2) Opening the Rucksack on the floor and taking out food and leaving it open
3) Eating on the train as if it were a picknick.
Basically it says - try to minimize the space you are using for your luggage and don't spread it all out on the floor and the seats.

In other words, the temple was constructed in a way that was not conforming to fire safety standards. It was an accident, which was expected to happen one time. Actually, there exists a special quite oily anti insect spray in Japan that can be used against hornets. I know, because it was used at the day of "Kusakari" when trimming a hedge. First spray from outside and then with an extension tube inside the nest. And be careful. Then, with gloves try to out the nest into a plastic bag, spray again and seal.

In other news, one can read that the fuel to the engine stopped while the pilot made a turn. Still enough fuel in the tanks. So probably not pilot error, but maintenance problem by the company who rented the airplane.

Police are suffering? Don't they have caller ID Display? Just collect the strange calls, and if it exceeds 5 or so, give a written warning to the person.

To studebaker - and your number 1 point on the list. There can be many reasons, why the wife does not want, and she will explain it like:
I am tired.
I have my period.
Not during the week when you have to work tomorrow.
... already sleeping or pretending to sleep ...
I did not yet take a shower.
It is too cold.
It is too hot.
The children are not yet sleeping.
Our little boy wants to sleep between us.
I have a headache.
Tomorrow is Monday and you have to go to work.
Tomorrow is Saturday and you have to go to language class. Please take the kids with you.
=> This reduces the chances to approximately one time a month on a Saturday.
Which is quite low, regarding the famous Martin Luther (in old german language) already around 1500:
"In der Woche zwier schaden weder ihm noch ihr."
Translation: Making love two times a week is good for him and for her.

Northlondon and seansezso:
Both of you bring good arguments. So I like to add some details. In the company where I work, there exists a compliance handbook, which is taken seriously, and there are also rules and explanations to the topics of sexual harassment and power harassment.
If there are couples at work, where both work in different departments, or in positions that neither is the boss of the other, then basically it is OK.
But if one of the couple is the boss of the other, then it can lead to power harassment and/or sexual harassment. And this is regarded as not desireable.
And, as far as I know comparable rules exist also in many western companies.
With this background, Kawada-san having an affair with her boss is suspicious - looking from a modern Japanese perspective oriented to successful business. This does not exclude that their relationship was pure love, but there is always a doubt.

About office design: He is completely right. There exist good examples, when some money is spend on good furniture. And there are bad examples when cheap steel crap is put into the office.

Now, what might help against black sound trucks, are raw potatoes. How does it work, one might ask? Well, try (but don't get caught) to push a potato into the sound truck engine exhaust pipe.
If the engine is running at high power, of course, no luck, the potato will come out by the gas pressure. But if the engine is more or less idling, when the truck is standing, then there is a good chance that the back-pressure will make the engine stop after a while.
This might also help with bosozoku, but again - make sure not to be found out.
And there are many other possibilities - well known from the Blues Brothers Movies.
