cnc:
I have problems following your argument that Volkswagen lacks 1.6 diesel engines.
Please have a look at:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ListofVolkswagenGroupdiesel_engines
Then you can see a wide range of Diesel engines starting from 1.2 Liter (3 cylinders), via 1.4 Liter, 1.6 Liter, 1.9 Liter, 2.0 Liter, 2.5 Liter, 2.7 Liter, 3.0 Liter, 4.2 Liter, 5 Liter, and 6 Liter.
About your argument that Suzuki makes very narrow cars:
A recent VW Polo width is: 1650 mm
A recent VW Golf width is: 1779 mm
For a recent Suzuki Swift the width is: 1690 mm
The Suzuki Swift seems to be in between of Polo and Golf. So the car width of a Suzuki Swift is not "very narrow", but only between VW Polo and VW Golf.
Still it might be that the Volkswagen engine might needs modification to be adapted to the Suzuki Gearbox and power train.

Sounds good. But I wonder if there is a chance for it to become true.
Posted in: Japan could shift to renewable energy sources for 60% of its electricity requirements over the next two decades, with a super grid across the country, and underwater off the coast, that would zip electricity around cheaply and efficiently to meet demand.

Knowing Volkswagen, there is quite some possibility that they tried to take over Suzuki in the long run. And also it seems that Suzuki noticed that early enough.
On the other hand, Suzuki ordering Diesel engines from Fiat instead from Volkswagen, seems to be quite an insult considering the high quality level and low fuel consumption of the Volkswagen/Audi TDI Diesel engine lineup.
Maybe Fiat and Suzuki are on a more equal footing - but probably this will give Suzuki neither any new Technology and might not help to improve quality. Suzuki will learn this the hard way after the field recalls of these engines due to trouble will start.
I wonder why Suzuki does not simply made a deal with Isuzu, who was actually making small Diesel engines for Opel in the past?

If it was so easy for Teijin Chemicals to add a specific component to the recycled PET bottle resin, then probably it is only a function of time that a DIY version will appear, or that China will copy the procedure regardless of there being a patent or not.

Probably the answer to the question can be found, when looking at the expression most often used at the start of a conversation by mobile phones of young Japanese ladies, as one can easily hear:
"Ima, doko?"
Then:
"Ima, nani tabeterun desu ka?"

As a car driver (at least in Germany, I don't know if the law applies in Japan) I am required to have an extra pair of glasses in my car in case the original ones get broken, if I want to continue my ride.
I wonder if such requirement also exists in Japan, and if exists for train drivers (to have spare glasses)?

Seems Mike has lost his curiosity.
Now, time to think a little bit different. How about a "date" with your children? Sounds strange? Not at all.
For example my wife has asked me to take care of our other 2 kids so that she can go with our oldest son to the movie "cars 2". He was very happy to be able to see this movie and he was talking a lot about the contents afterwards.
2nd example: my wife has asked me to take care of our 2 boys so that she can go with our daughter (her age is in between the 2 boys) for some window shopping, buying clothes and having a cake afterwards. Both really enjoyed.
3rd example: My wife took care of the youngest (2 years old), while I took the 2 older kids to Disneyland. First 100km by car, and then we had to change to train, because the highway was too crowded. Although it was quite hot, both enjoyed being in Disneyland very much. And finally on returning the adventure how to return back to the car at the highway service area parking, as the access gate from the train station was already locked. Luckily a worker from the service area had to put out some umbrella stand, so he re-opened the gate and we were able to use our car for driving back. It was a real adventure, and of course needed some planning. But not everything can be planned and that makes it interesting.
Like Cleo said, do some research before, put in some ideas, and a good result will come out. And, for having fun and a good time, why not think in a way that kids do?
