Altira, I had the same thing happen to me. It was awful. Made me wonder whether anyone went into that section at all. But I must say, a nice soak in the onsen after a day of snowboarding does wonders to keep the sore muscles at bay. And it's better than a hot bath b/c you don't have to wait for the darn thing to fill up--the water's already waiting there for you.

Thanks to this stupid "Kabukicho Renaissance," my favorite pub is being shut down. Do we really need yet another Roppongi Hills-esque area with more shopping centers, all carrying the same shops, most of which are already on the other side of Shinjuku Station? Rrrrrr.....

I think one that warned people not to swing their umbrellas behind them while walking would be better. I've almost been impaled several times while going up stairs or in a tight crowd because some fool has been walking fast and stabbing his umbrella behind him. I would also have appreciated a "Take a shower in the morning" manners poster this summer. All those stinky oyajis who think you're fine if you take a bath the night before almost did me in with their bad b.o. on the crowded trains. Ick! Much more useful than the "Do it at home" campaign.

I don't know if/why he committed suicide, but I don't think that 24 hours is a long shift. It's common for police officers, fire fighters and doctors, even in other countries. Just because you have a 24 hour shift doesn't mean that you are working for all of it. My brother is a fire fighter and if they get no calls, they just sleep or hang out. Then they get the next two days off.
