Why don't they install gates at these stations? JR can afford billions of yen for a train that runs on magnets, can't they spare a little and build gates? You never hear about stuff like this in Hong Kong where every station has gates to block people from doing that!
Too bad we can't broadcast this image to those thirsty African kids who can't get any water. Japan is just this wonderful country of waste and overuse, where you can leave the tap water running all day, pouring out into the streets. Where you can open all of your windows…
I LOVE the oil crisis! It gave everyone a great excuse to arbitrarily raise the price of EVERYTHING. Those cows guzzle so much crude oil that cheese prices are just forced to go up.
I also like how cheese and raw milk are considered raw materials, like iron and ore…
It's not even worth debating anymore. It's 100% up to the government to ban smoking in all public places. This will NEVER happen, Japan will forever remain a haven for smokers as long as the government owns a stake in JT. The only hope is Japan's obsessive copycat behavior with…
Yeah, I'm sure it's unspoiled alright. I bet 1 night at a hotel costs $200 there too. I can't wait until someone finds an unspoiled part of Japan that doesn't gouge your wallet. Not to mention getting there by train or bus will probably be the same cost as flying…
They average from $50USD - $150USD per melon. It's not something anyone would ever casually buy, much like everything else in Tokyo. I highly doubt they taste any different from a normal watermelon either, making it square is in no way a modification of it's genetic structure.
Right, they might as well simply discontinue their economy seats here and now. There's no point in asking the normal citizen for half of their annual salary just for a flight from Hong Kong to KL. I wonder if these oil prices are going to improve horse and canoe sales?
Does anyone know if it's 3G features will be crippled in order to lock it into Japan-only usage? Also, it doesn't have felica(or whatever other random brand) wireless money functions. That's not going to sit well with everyone in Japan land.

Is that price a joke? What did they base that number on? Was there some kind of supply-and-demand figure they researched on blimps?

When considering the world food crisis, I wonder if they thought about those $100 melons behind Laura.
