Some of those wrapped sandwiches with the crust cut off are from China. I bet the Chinese think people here are idiots when they make the food for them. What a waste to throw away the crust of the bread when making the sandwich.

yo, quick edit, I meant DHA, not DHC. Just for the record, DHA is extracted from fish oil. Yum!

I love the way Japanese beverage companies just throw in whatever chemical is the current fad. Last year it was that royal jelly crap, which was never in any drink before but now is in Dekavita, Vitamin Water, and just about every "energy" drink out there. Now it's collagen which is derived from pig fat(yummm!) that's in all kinds of new drinks. Now this? I mean, come on, does anyone actually know where royal jelly comes from? It's scraped off the heads of sweaty ants in heat as their foreheads secrete it for the queen to eat. Sounds delicious, right? Collagen is extracted from pig fat. If you want nice skin, why not take a bath? So, DHC, where does that come from?

I guess after spending a week looking over the site, I do have one comment. There's no way to visually differentiate between sections. Every section has the same size headline, same color and same(relatively) amount of content displayed. I would almost welcome just a simple change as to assign a different color for each section, as opposed to the current bare bones red, black and white. If I want to read about a certain section, there's no way for me to quickly find it on the top page without scanning every section(this is the situation where I decide not to use the main navigation and only desire to seek out top page content). If I know green was for "entertainment", I would always look for green in the headline when I visit the site(for example).

I think the joke is that they are keeping this discussion open and not shutting it off for PR sake. This thing has become a seething pit of DO NOT LIKE and I wonder if they're leaving it open just for their amusement. I love the people who hate the red highlights yet still frequent cnn.com for their daily dose of bright red and light grey design elements. Maybe everyone just wants a big graphic heavy website, loaded with gradients and McDonalds ads?

I guess after a few days of viewing this site the only thing I would ask returned would be the Pop Vox. I also liked the previous AJAX used for the quote, photo, have you say, when it bounced up and down to reveal the content beneath. I thought it was really nice the way it was when the new design was launched, but now if you click it, it just slides down and it's not as fun. I almost want to ask JT to stop reading these awful comments here and just leave the site as it was when it relaunched. They all stop complaining after about a week or so and 90% of them complain just for the sake of complaining.

This is so typical of the crowd here. Like a pool of sharks. As I said, throw a Michaelangelo up here and you'll all spit and piss on it simply because you feel like it. For that matter, go through a test process with random readers first? You're kidding. This site isn't run by Conde Nast, don't expect some huge billion yen research team analyzing the lot of you and your comments before launching a massive red carpet rollout with free champagne for all the readers.

Ha HA! That's what you think. I wasn't chased away by the new site. No comment traffic = everyone is sleeping.

Wow, had you altered a few words in there, that whole thing would have rhymed. Sort of like a lymeric or something?

Well, on a side note, Kimigano, your comments are excellent. This is what I like to read, those are some smart comments, and I do agree with your point about the features. That really interesting, actually.

Because I know what it's like to work so hard on something and sit back and watch it get torn to bits. I've also put work into JT in the past years and know the hard work and sweat that's gone into this. It's not some corporate machine that's out to make everyone's day miserable. It's a team of dedicated people, it's always been, who want to bring you the news and a good experience. I helped with the site in the past, I know the people who have worked on it are good and mean well, and the new owners have the same good intentions. I only want to show my respect.

My point exactly, stating how horrible it is without offering any creative input will do no good. So what color would you have made it then? Do you want the font to be ten times larger? Are you reading the site off your mobile phone with it's tiny screen? Throwing out statements and not saying what it is you want won't get anyone anywhere.

This was to be expected of the audience here. Ask them for a critique of anything, and you'll get a load of nonsense. Throw up the Mona Lisa and they'll tear it apart. I'm sure everyone forgot about the last time this was updated and tore it apart then. You all kept coming back for more so it really makes no difference.

I think the new design is brilliant and lightyears beyond what used to be up here. It's easy to find information, easy to use, and it doesn't look like a blog anymore. I'm completely satisfied that someone took the job and did it. I couldn't be happier with the new site, well done.
