i wish them luck on the arbitration but i am not hopeful. what they need is a big stick. the u.s. is useless. they won't do anything.

if china land a military force on the senkakus, will you engage in military action to kick them off immediately?

in hawaii they hunt them with a pack of dogs and knife. i also heard of some people who used to bury a 50 gallon drum in the ground at a 45-50 degree angle and put some rotten fruit at the bottom.the pigs go in for the fruit and can't back out cause their hooves can't get grip on the smooth steel. you can then cut their throats at your leisure.

japanese beef you eat for the fat, its like eating butter. american beef still tastes better than aussie, imho. although have to admit, aussie beef is getting better.

Posted in: Inside the mouth, 10 seconds, it is melting to nothing. Japanese beef, they eat the texture. American and Australian beef, the main thing is the flavor.

its not entirely correct to say that there is no tipping in japan. when you stay at a nice ryokan its not uncommon people to give something to the okami. with the domino's guy or taxi drivers if they provide better than average service i will tell them to keep the change and they often seem very happy when you do. some places add an additional service charge (which i hate cause its questionable whether this actually goes to the person performing the service or just lining the owner's pocket).

the u.s. has been outmaneuvered. no way russia was ever going to let their only black sea naval base go over to the west. unless west can prove that the crimea vote was somehow illegal or suppressed, what is the basis of their claim for sanctions? although i have to say that numbers are a bit fishy, when have you ever heard of 95.5% of an 83.1% turnout makes me wonder what prison the other 20% of the population are being held in. hey, but u.s. should thank russia cause they just offered them a very neat way to avoid their obligation to defend the ukraine. personally, the u.s. should just have told the ukraine. sorry we can't defend you so we'll give you your nuclear weapons back! :D

then why bother copying? why not create their own brand? brands exist because they create value, whether it be quality or image or something else. by copying they are stealing the reputation of the brand.

if japan has no legal claim then china should go to ICJ and prove china's legal claim instead of trying to bully japan into giving up theirs.

    by MOF accounts:

Official Development Assistance (ODA) to China began in 1979 and from that time to the present, approximately 3.1331 trillion yen in loan aid (yen loans), 145.7 billion yen in grant aid, and 144.6 billion yen in technical cooperation have been implemented. i understand that they are mostly loans but will china ever pay them back? i doubt it since they don't respect the rule of law.

unfortunately history and the senkakus are not unrelated cause china's claim to them is historical. japan has the superior legal claim which is why china will not go to the ICJ.

the reason china (and korea for that matter) keep bringing up WWII atrocities is that japan is dammed if they recognize them and dammed if they don't. japan has apologized and essentially given them tons of money so they could develop their economies but do they acknowledge that? no. do they show any appreciation? no. they will just continue rubbing japan's nose in it one way or another for their own political gain. after all, can't change history.

japan should just build a base on the senkakus cause the u.s. will do nothing if china does it first.

japan should be concerned. russia is acting to protect its black sea naval base but the u.s. made a treaty with the ukraine to protect its sovereignty in exchange for the ukraine giving up its nuclear weapons. if u.s. defaults whose to say that they won't default on the u.s.- japan defense treaty? personally i don't see the u.s. as willing to get over a shooting war with china over the rocks which are the senkakus. they will make a lot of noise and levy sanctions but so what? hasn't worked with iran, won't work with china or russia. having nukes would make china think long and hard about what they are doing. no nuclear armed country has ever had its borders infringed.

the problem is japan is dammed if they apologize and dammed if they don't. whatever they do, the chinese and koreans will just continue whining so why bother?
