    what they really need to do is make obviously frivolous calls to police/emergency services a crime with mandatory jail time and/or fines. the problem is the police will enforce it for about a month and then forget about it.

    Japanese police had identified the three men via video footage of them throwing flaming projectiles that damaged a Japanese whaling ship in February 2007, NHK said.

    an anesthesiologist will run you a few thousand in the U.S., but they are specialists and very important for a good surgical outcome. Almost as important as the surgeon.

    i think this is more of an insurance/liability issue in the U.S. in japan doctors aren't really held accountable.

    actually their "fuel surcharge" bears no reasonable relationship with their fuel costs. they only charge it for their international flights and its not required by law.
