Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Wednesday denounced the crackdown and the presence of the Saudi-led force.

“How is it possible to stop waves of humanity with military force?” Ahmadinejad said.

if anybody know how to do it he does. he does it to his own people who are shiite even. i guess that makes it ok.

btw, i had a friend who lived out in kawasaki and after the trains shut down he would just go down the line of taxis and ask them if they would take him home for a 5000yen. except during bonenkai season, he would inevitably find someone that would.

the problem is that you tend to remember the bad experience more so than uneventful ones.

generally, considering the address/road system, i find taxis in japan are pretty good. the problem in tokyo is that you get drivers coming in from saitama who don't have a clue and just clog up the streets around the station waiting for fares.

and they end up waiting cause the fares are too expensive so nobody wants to ride unless on a expense account or out of necessity. look at HK, there are tons of taxis but during rush hours and when it rains its nearly impossible to get one cause they are so cheap that people think nothing of shelling out the money to ride.

as for the quality of the drivers, they do vary from company to company. i've found ebisu and mk are pretty good. also kojin drivers, they may be gruff sometimes but they do know where they are going and are fast.

stop complaining. just do the same to china's warships and force them to create the international incident.

no more welfare. make it workfare and have them clean public toilets for couple hours a day. if they don't show up or don't do a good job, no pay. the government should get something for the money it pay.

a lot of people have the potential. when i was that age, i think that i may have even had the potential. but when push comes to shove, actually going out, planning and acting on it is another thing altogether. as for japanese getting drunk and complaining, i think all people everywhere complain, its a way to let of steam. but at least they don't go out looking for a brawl.

if they are under the age of consent, for nudes i would imagine they would need their guardian's approval. whereas if they were over, they're fair game and it could be considered "art".

if its the bureaucrats' fault, they should have changed the law to make it legal to fire them.

if recidivism rates for sex offenders is so high, they shouldn't be let out of jail in the first place! the gps could be offered to them as a way of allowing them out into society.

That guy in Wakayama should be charged with interfering with emergency services, or something. You'd think after the first 70 times or so, they'd have his number, so to speak!

unfortunately, they probably don''t have the laws in place to do that but they should.

unless you have access to the same ingredients, water etc. as in the home country, of course the italian, french, etc. food is not going to be the same. french lamb and chicken are much more flavorful than here and the sauces are tailored to match so of course they have to be more flavorful themselves. i'm sure if you brought a french chef here and required him to use local ingredients it would not taste like something prepared in france. but is that a bad thing? what the michelin guide does is puts a standard on food quality, service and ambiance to restaurants in japan. it can't really be directly compared with restaurants in france or anywhere else for that matter.
