why should rich people pay more for the same governmental services? in fact, rich people are less likely to use governmental services. get rid of the IRS, institute a reasonable system of flat tax on income and value added tax on luxuries and get rid of all the loopholes. of course the politicians will never go for it cause it takes away their power to pass out favors...

the problem is that the u.s. military personnel off base are not subject to japanese law and punishment. instead of shielding them from should be educated on japanese law and if they violate it, they are should be punished in accordance with japanese law.

depends on the industry. if you work in fashion or entertainment, frosted hair is probably fine. if you work for with banks or the big trading companies, not so fine but that would also depend on how tasteful done it was. that being said gaijin are given a certain amount leeway but you shouldn't abuse it.

i don't think you can say that going tied 2-2 into half time would not have made a difference. it may have made a difference psychologically in the second half.
that being said, germany looked like it played much better than england.

the people of gaza chose hamas to rule them so they should live with their choices. if they don't like it, they should choose someone else.
while the loss of life is tragic, obviously the activist got exactly what they wanted. they were warned, given the option of off loading somewhere else but choose a direct confrontation and then choose to attack israeli troops. for them now to complain is hypocritical.
the big mistake the israeli made was boarding in international waters. what they probably should have done was try to stop them in territorial waters. if they refuse to stop, foul their props and tow them back into international waters and let them drift.

from what i've read it seems that GS created this security abacus and sold it and at the time they also took a long position in it. but when the markets subsequently turned south, they took short positions against it and made a ton of money. if that's the case i don't see any wrong doing. the problem would be where they were selling at same time as they were betting against it. in that case they would not just be matching buyers and sellers.

if you are a legal immigrant, being stopped and asked to show id is an inconvenience but it protects you against illegal immigrants taking your job cause they will work cheaper. if you are illegal, why should you be entitled to any protection from the law?

the government should have let the free market rule and let the to big to fail banks fail and then used the money they would have saved to provide support for the economy some other way like offering low interest loans directly to the people/business that really need it. instead the government was lazy and loaned the money to the banks who instead of loaning it like they were suppose to do, invested it to line their own pockets.

amazing that the heli could get so close before they noticed. although shouldn't be surprised. japan didn't even notice when a missile was launched over it.
