smithinjapan - sorry bud - these men are not in afghanistan as peacekeepers -- they are there very much as a sharp deadly instrument. canada claims the start of the peacekeeping concept, but today we have less than about 50 peacekeepers on missions -- ten years ago we had more than 1100.
we are proud of the men and their sacrifice, but the support for the mission is eroding rather fast...

RR - collectivist agenda -- heck no, i heard that he's ordering extra chains so that he can beat the guiness record for the longest white chain gang!!! it'll be supervised by black panther bosses. the pretext is going to be rebuilding america's infrastructure, but he's planning a living hell for all them white folk and he's gonna make em lose hundreds and hundreds of pounds --- each!

oh yeah, this obama guy seems like he is going to pursue all the independent minded red-blooded upstanding americans, declare them enemy combatants and ship them off to the gulag ... SORRY wrong country ... to gitmo. it is time to stock up on amo, jerky, and bottled water and move deep into the nevada desert to ride out the next 20 years or so. on the other hand i hear alaska is the real home of the true red-stater mentality ... i hear the gov is your kind-a-gal - wasilla could always use some independence minded upstanding separatist -- you betcha. good luck guys! i'll be rootin' for ya.

isn't mccain the guy who admitted that economics is not his strongest suit?
and the rolling stone profile (16.x.08) on him did not buff up his image any either.
makes him sound like w on steroid rather than nose candy! and it really puts a big question mark on how mccain would handle a crisis or whether he'd just bail himself out of trouble as he did on the forrestal or break but tough it out as he did in hanoi.

well helter skelter, your mind is made-up and you got me pegged to your satisfaction ... enjoy the close confines of a closeted mind. a fresh wind is blowing and it promises to clear some cobwebs from the corners -- it may not penetrate your closet, but senator obama, banal though he may be, will redefine the playing field for future generations. some fossils will find fault with his governance, but he'll sure be better than the sick old man hiding the true state of his melanoma or, god forbid, the baracuda from wasilla.

helter skelter - your exaggeration and preoccupation concerning the Black vote is indicative of a deeper problem of you personally and of the country's population. slicing up the nation into neat portions by "race" is a quaint habit which leads directly to apartheid. where would you put obama? does he fit into the white slice because of his mother? or does he fit into the black slice because of his father?
sarah palin uses acorn's (in the over-all scheme minor) failings to smear obama with inflammatory rhetoric which exploits precisely this weakness in the american psyche. (a single drop of black blood makes you black, unless your features allow you to pass for white.) she is a new-style "rabble rouser" in that she pokes the subconscious prejudices and associated fears while appearing pc, but the results are the same.
sarah palin = george wallace + lipstick - remorse

well the old man sounds pretty desperate -- i guess it is his last chance to outrank his father and grandfather (as president he would outrank a 4-star admiral) and i guess he is willing to risk the well-being of the country, because he don't look too healthy, not healthy enough to last for a full term.
if his negative campaign connects, it will probably mean that sarahcuda and the first dude would occupy the white house -- i wonder where they would hang their moose?

helter skelter
i guess the delusion is yours then... i've had too much experience with leftists to be that naive. on the other hand, i also see you for what you are. your fear of a less than white president so eloquently expressed
leaves no room for misinterpretation. so, as a rabid racist, are you representative of the "pro-america" crowd so beloved of governor palin?

helter skelter -- would you call yourself a typical representative of what governor palin calls "her kind of people"? because if you are, you should put your views out more forcefully and more often!
-- i think there are some still undecided voters who should read your and your ilks opinions to help them see the kind of scum that supports her and the angry old man who would be king (for a day or two) before succumbing to his latest bout of melanoma (did you see his jaw during the debate? the guy could hardly talk!!!)

well by dubya's example we can see that sarah is indeed ready to be president. question is can she fill cheney's shoes? does she have what it takes to survive the long, lonely hours at an undisclosed, secure location? although she might be a better shot and she might actually dispatch a few old lawyers.
yeay for sarah, the veep and pres that the us of a deserves! hey we might look at dubya's reign with nostalgia -- he might not keep the distinction of being the worst pres in us history!
