And this actually happened AFTER the open house. Parents were in a different room with teachers (parents-teachers social meeting) when this happened. The kids were basically just waiting around in the library while teachers and parents were talking. Anyone who have kids in Japanese schools probably know how long this meaningless "meeting" goes on AFTER openhouse..

according to sankei news, there were like 20 kids in the library and some kids yelled when the girl fell. a teacher heard the kids scream and then rushed into the library. until then, there was no adult in the library.

There's a little difference between this JT article and Japanese news articles I've read. The guy (by the way, he has already been arrested) got off his car and yelled at the high school girl to get off the bike AND THEN GET ON HIS CAR. His purpose was to take away the girl (don't really have to wonder what his intention was). The girl screamed for help to a passer-by and the guy slashed her face with a knife and drove away. Some people saw his car and reported to the police and the guy was arrested on the next day (today). Thank goodness he was caught.

if they are short of money, i think there will be more crimes like stealing from taxi driver and etc. remember the murder incident in yokosuka.. the sailor killed a japanese woman for money.

even though it's been taking the police long time to arrest these 3 people, i am glad that the girl had already been removed from the family. i don't know HOW a mother can hurt her own child, but it is more surprising that the grandmother was also abusing the little girl.. it is just sick.

they are this woman's mother(42-years old) and her husband (31-years old). this woman only has one child (this poor lil girl)

And Japanese newspaper said this girl has been living in a child protection center since last July as this mother had called the authority and said she wasn't sure if she could raise this girl. I am glad this girl is in a safe place now.

according to yomiuri, the 2 family members are not minors. they are this woman's 42-year-old mother and her 31-year-old husband (the woman's step father). their names are also disclosed.

it shocks me that this girl was stabbed RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER HOUSE. She wasn't walking home alone, she was with an adult (neighbor mom/friend's mom)and said good-bye a few seconds before she was stabbed.
i guess in this case, the best thing people COULD HAVE DONE was to report there was a suspicious woman standing on the same spot for a long time.. it's a shame that this could have been prevented and wasn't.

bboy30- yes, she has family in osaka and she was living with them. according to her family, this woman quit her job (nurse) because she was bullied. family said she was acting strange lately and wasn't talking at all.

According to j-news, the woman was a nurse, working at a hospital in Osaka until August last year. This girl walked from school with her friends and friend's mother and was stabbed right in front of her house. She was stabbed 5 times (back, chest, arm and head) and she was still conscious in the ambulance mumbling "mama, mama..". Breaks my heart.
