I don't understand why she was found at her grandmother's apartment though

Her grandmother's apartment is pretty close to where the girl lives, and the girl went to visit the grandma (she was not home so the girl was about to leave the apartment when the incident happened). Grandma must have felt terrible that she wasn't home at that time and the family must be so angry at whoever did this to the girl. The girl will need an emotional therapy as well as surgical procedure to fix the wounds on the face..

some people exercise a little and burn lots more than some people who exercise more.. it depends on the person's metabolism... so, sometimes those over-weight people are exercising like slim people but they just don't burn enough.

sure, going to the gym is good, but sometimes it is depressing for those who are not happy with what they look to go to the gym.. I'd suggest jump ropes.. cheap, doesn't need much space, and burns more calories than walking. start slow and then increase.. don't have to do it for a long time, but just for 15 minutes a day would make a big difference.

    himehentai--

Really? nobody wants to be friends with you because you're big and don't drink?? Well, I DO know some big people who don't drink, but they love going to Izakaya bars and they can be even more fun with a glass of woolong tea than people who drink beer! And I like going out with them because they are simply fun and never get drunk!!

If you open up a bit, you'd be surprised that people actually like people like you :))

good luck, and I hope you still have a smile on your face :D

it's the constant gift giving and adoration that I find hard to put up with.

I get gift constantly from my husband -- gift, which is.. a Nikuman from a nearby convenient store on his way back home... a can of Chuhai I like and etc, and I always appreciate and love those gifts :) Gift doesnt have to be an expensive jewely, bag and etc.

I agree with Cleo-- Mrs. TheMarion is lucky and Mr. TheMarion is a lucky man, too!!

I also agree with JKanda --- I think Patrick's wife is doing all those annoying things on purpose to annoy him.. and she's being successful at annoying him. So... Patrick should do the same to her .. see what her reaction would be !!

fishy, yes, maybe that's true. I am never pleasantly tired, as any feeling of pleasure evaporates the second I have to interact with my wife at the end of a long day.

True.. when someone tells you how tired she is, it actually brings some really tiring atmosphere... usually better not to say tired unless you are REALLY tired or pleasantly tired (this, you can share stories and etc, so I don't see it in a negative way!)..

she was walking home with the boy and this happened shortly after (like less than a minute) she said good-bye to the boy.

Also japanese consider a bruise an Injury with a broken collar-bone being a major injury, etc. Not sure how bad those cuts were some might be small.

I heard that there were a couple of stab wounds on top of a dozen slashes... aweful..

    Patrick-

How can doing absolutely nothing useful ever be such a tiring occupation?

I've noticed that when I have a full day of schedule, I am pleasantly tired, but when it is a boring day and not much to do, I feel tired in a negative day... Sometimes doing nothing can make people feel tired... Maybe she should do more so that at least she is pleasantly tired LOL

Exactly what would you do if the adult told you to mind your own business and kept on berating the child? If you touch the child, you could be in big trouble and if you touch the adult, you could be in even bigger trouble. There are not a lot of options other than to stand nearby and glare

like I said, if it is obviously INAPPROPRIATE, I would intervene.. If the child was just being scolded at or being spanked on her/his hiney, I would not do or say anything, but for example, if the child was being kicked, punched and etc, I would intervene and say something to the adult/parent, because in my book, you should NEVER kick or punch a child (or any other human being).

I would just tell the adult to stop, and if he/she tells me it is none of my business, then I'd say yes it is, because it is my responsibility (or anybody's responsibility) to protect a child from possible injury.

I would not touch the child nor adult, I'd try to talk.. if I get in trouble for just talking.. Oh well. But if I saw an adult really hurting a child and me not doing or saying anything and left the scene, I would feel extremely angry at myself..

Like some people have said, it is definitely case by case.. but when it's obvious that the child is being hurt, then why not opening your mouth and say something??

JT--- it is not a man, it was a 77 year-old WOMAN who was dragged and died...

Moderator: The story has been corrected. The initial reports were very vague on the gender. We apologize for the error.

JT really knows how to get people to post their comments!!!!

without a hesitation, I would intervene if anything looked inappropriate.

The guy who slashed the girl actually spoke to the 74-year-old woman who called the police while running away.. He went up to her and said that there is a girl lying on the street and then ran away, according to Japanese news.. So, probably the information (age and height) was from this woman and the boy.. And when the girl was found, there was a black plastic bag to cover her head and face..

slashed across the face several times with a bladed weapon

Slashed on her face and neck 15 times, not several times.. according to Sankei... my mouth dropped open.. The girl needs emotional help to recover.

If anybody slashed my daughter's face, I'd make sure to slash the person's face AND MORE. Because the guy didn't kill the girl, he probably wouldn't be locked away for very long, and as a mother who has a daughter, I would NEVER forgive anybody who leaves a scar on my girl's face.

Was goin to say its only the women complaining here, but seriously the habit my wife has is that she complains continously about everything

hmm.. the habit my husband has is that he complains about such tiny things that I wouldn't even care about.. i called him girly for complaining so much about tiny things that are really nothing.. well, he really didn't like to be called girly and stopped complaining for awhile.. but didn't last too long.. he still complains.. but that's okay because I decided to think that I have one more child (a big child) when he complains ;)

So you mean nobody saw this child in the ditch? Come on. Pat attention drivers and pedestrians

Saw the news and looks like this happened on a country road and I am not surprised nobody found him quick because he was in a ditch that is 60cm deep and 50cm wide, and looked like it was quite bushy.. He was unconscious when his father found him -- Gosh I can't even imagine how the father felt when he saw him in the ditch.. Glad the boy was alive and glad the father found him.
