Wanna quit? try the advice of Allen Carr. I am with him - its all in your mind. His advice works for any vice too - bad foods, alcohol, gambling.

there is a lady with a panasonic like that (older model) who watches TV shows on the train every morning (same train same carriage everyday) I prefer the PSP for watching vids on the train myself, you can do so many other things with it.

"get fired by major companies"......"who cannot be easily fired."

Great reporting as ever by whoever to make their story 'juicier'. 'Laid off' is a more appropriate term for what has happened - when there is no longer employment available due to changing conditions. Fired has connotations of the employee being at fault.

It happens all the time all over the world in certain lines of work: meat workers, fruit pickers, vegetable and crop harvesters, shearers...temporary workers are just that, temporary. Sure auto industry workers are not likely to be subjected to wildly variations/fluctuations like a fruit picker but nonetheless its essentially the same principle. There are on apples to pick - the orchard owner lets you go, when there are no cars to make ditto. Don't like it? welcome to the harsh realities capitalism, should it be different? in an ideal world yes, but sadly we don't live in that ideal world. No system seems to works communism, capitalism are both equally defective.

It's too late for the temp workers now but to young people in school, the way to avoid this predicament of being being a lowly temp worker - study harder, get better grades go to a better school, go to college, sacrifice.

76 and rising...I can't even begin to imagine....

found this....... a man arrived with his infant daughter, saying his wife and other child had been killed. He was so badly burnt He had skin hanging off him everywhere and his little girl was burnt, but not as badly as her dad, and he just came down and he said 'Look, I've lost my wife, I've lost my other kid, I just need you to save (my daughter)'

    It's a tragedy we don't need.

Indeed it is a devastiting tragedy for those in Victoria, I have friends in that general area who I worry about greatly...a tragedy we don't need, but one we (humanity) have contributed to.

Believe me, humanoid female robots are just around the corner and it'll save the day for quite a few of these blokes.

even better still like Battle Star Galactica....a nice cylon like Sharon would be very popular with these himote...

These himote chaps must have some pretty well set up "Himote Pads" with top of the PC equipment and 65in LCD TV's ...seeing as they are blowing it on the ladies.

It has always surprised me how lenient the authorities are with the homeless here, seemingly allowing them to squat/hang out in prime locations. Turning a blind eye just like the bozozoku I guess.

one more thing: please tell me he was 100% sober and not on dangerous meds at the time. If if turns out there were such influences then I hope he gets crucified....

right leg paralysed and he had a accelerator to the left of the brake??? thats sounds like recipe for disaster especially with an old man with a likely senile mind letting his mind slip and forgetting momentarily his jerryrigged system. How ironic that his car gave him his freedom in the past yet now the very same car has taken it away.

Veteran ozeki Kaio, forced out komusubi Toyonoshima (2-5) to improve to 5-2.

Forced, thats one way of putting it, snapping his elbow with an evil arm lock is another way. Poor form old man, poor form.

SDF = Sick depraved F.... wonder what the F could be? To be honest it doesn't surprise me based on what their predessors got up to in the past and taking into account how neutered the SDF are now, they need to take out their pent up aggression somehow...

One of the worst for sure, so many screw ups from his administration that have been listed above and on a personal level he was surely the thickest dimwit to ever sit in the oval office. goodbye G.W, don't let the door hit your proverbial on the way out.

If two people stand in front of the altar or the registrar or wherever and vow to build an exclusive relationship, what's unfair about expecting them to do just what they vowed to do? Why is is selfish to expect a person to respect the promises they made? If people don't want to have that responsibility, they don't have to take the vows.

In Japan there is no altar, no vows: thats optional tacky stuff with a fake gaijin priest. Marriage is reduced to its basic civil union - a contract. You sign on the dotted line hand it in at the city office and youre done - its binding. If you want to make the whole vow thing, go ahead. If you don't have a common agreement of what is expected from eachother then why get married in the first place? You don't need vows to do that.

kwatt - Mt Fuji is dormant, though you are right it could fire up again quite easily and that would make Shizuoka could be a crappy place to be.

Yep, seems like a clear case of "Munchhausen by proxy" at first sight. If you aren't sure what that is try the movie "sixth sense" where the mum poisoned the little girl who consequently died. Not quite a satanic monster by a psychologically unstable woman who should be sterilized.

    I'd say its more Boar: 1 Hunters:1

John Rambo would have taken care of business with the boar.
