As time goes on her choice seems more and more like a really bad decision. Now her 17 y.o daughter is promiscuous little you know what and is going to have a baby? great role model for the nation. At least Dick Cheney the current Rep' V.P only skeleton was a Lesbian daughter - he and his family seem positively "normal" compared to the moose burger eating, gun loving beauty queen with kids named Track, Bristol, Piper, Trig and Willow. McCain only met this woman once before tapping her on the shoulder, but he is already regretting that.

There are many legitimate sports in the Olympic Games.. soccer

Soccer/football doesn't need to be there, it has so many other competitions and carries little prestige in the football world. It takes too long (they start games before the opening ceremony) Dropping it would save a a lot on Olympic costs - stadiums, big teams - smaller Olympic village. Only small team sports should be there. Volleyball yes, Basketball yes, Handball no, Hockey no. Baseball and softball got the shaft, why stop there?

Futsal, would be a much better Olympic sport, smaller facilities, smaller teams, faster pace, quicker games: a much better Olympic football option.

this is last of the "Great" games . London has already promised a more sustainable games. It is unlikely that you will see a Games of this size and scope and stature ever again,” said Sebastian Coe, the chairman of the London committee.

It wasn't Beijing's games, it was China's Games and the only a whole country could put a package like that together. Over 1 million Chinese volunteers at the games - staggering really. Got to admit, it was an impressive event overall.

FWIW it seems people in almost every country were complaining about their local broadcasters. Channel 7 in Australia, TVNZ, NBC etc. Only the BBC it seems did a decent job of it.

Atsushi Sato timed 2:41:08 for 76th place.

76th and the wooden spoon, ouch, at least he finished though, many dropped out of the race. Pukey2 I have been watching torrents of the olympics from Australia and England, it has been great!

sayonara baseball and softball. Rugby sevens is a truly international sport and deserves a chance, plus China would never win it (gotta stop them somehow)!

Heath Ledger is a shoo-in for the best supporting actor next January. Jack Nicholson was great, but too campy. I think a young "Shining" Jack could have pulled off a sicko evil Ledger type joker as well as if not better than Ledger did. Jack could play unhinged characters very well. That would have been great performance, its shame Tim Burton made Jack into the joker that he did.

people trying to make there own waterproof housing for some sort or music device...

the same twits who listen to music while skiing or snowboarding. Doing a deco stop is a great time to chill contemplate life, you don't need music.

the advent of the mp3 player has warped people into thinking they have the ability and therefore must listen to music absolutely anywhere and everywhere.

sharks - underwater very little noise, but if you on the surface, you sure can hear the splashing. Besides is nowhere safe from music? how about "enjoying nature" with all senses attuned to your surroundings? I guess the twits who snowboard while listening to their ipods will lap up a product like this.

In a other news RCA-Victor has released an updated version of "8-track". A company spokesman said " If you want cassette tape, CD, Mini-disc or heavens forbid: MP3, then get one of those, this product is meant to improve the ego of baby boomers stuck in the 70's"....

    Yeah whatever.

Anyway how about The Phelps Diet? the man would be a morbidly obese slob if he wasn't the phenomenal athlete that he is, burning away mad calories.

Check out what powered him to 8 golds. Phelps wakes up at about 5am and sits down to a breakfast of three fried-egg sandwiches loaded with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, fried onions and mayonnaise. He follows that with two cups of coffee, a five-egg omelette, a bowl of grits, three slices of French toast topped with sugar and three chocolate-chip pancakes.

At lunch, he puts away about half a kilo of pasta, before tucking into two large ham and cheese sandwiches with mayo on white bread. To help wash that down he drinks another 1,000 calories worth of energy drinks.

For dinner, Phelps really goes to town, with another half kilo of pasta and an entire pizza for good measure. And don't forget another 1,000 calories in energy drinks.

"Oh, I see you don't want it. Maybe the guy over there who finished 4th behind you will like it..."

sadly it doesnt work that way. Like Judo, the losing semi finalists both get a bronze medal, the guy who was 4th has his medal anyway. There is no fifth as there four guys who were 5th - i.e lost in the quarter final. The IOC has already stated on one will be promoted.

I have to admit that I find most of what is being written on this subject staggeringly arrogant

    really?

Anyway, Who has sat across from a Sanada on a train in this country and endured the hateful glare? This country will be a far better place when old guys like this full of hate and resentment pass on. "Yoshimitsu Sanada, 75, admonished the prime minister for not making a Yasukuni pilgrimage for Aug. 15 a day that every year draws crowds of veterans, their relatives, tourists and militarists to the shrine.

“He’s stupid,” Sanada said of Fukuda. “He’s a Chinese servant.”

Sanada, who wore an old army uniform and carried a sword, said his uncle died in Saipan during World War II."

When the more powerful 'Sanadas' of this world have passed on and less bitter more rational people pull the strings, lets hope that a resolution to the yasukuni issue can be resolved with Korea and China. The 'Sanada' types have no ability to suck up the pride and reach a comprimise, lets hope the newer generation can.
