actually it's a tie - 57 each, well now JAL has retired this "classic", perhaps you are right. JAL seems to have trouble keeping pieces on their planes and not dropping them off to the ground below.

yes indeed, poor reporting from Kyodo news. 1983 was start of the 300 series, the first with the stretched upper deck. A 100 or 200 series would be more "classic" than a 300. Perhaps by "classic" they mean the last of the 3 man flight crew Jumbos?

Never heard of anyone moving to Japan for the weather. Many great things about this place, the weather though is not one. This "summer " has sucked more than usual.

What a waste of good eclipse, shame the eclipse path couldnt have been over Europe or North America - where people would have appreciated it a whole lot more.
