Why is the tiny one wearing a Halloween costume? When was this photo taken? Weirdness.

    Anyway, congrats on the nails!

@Miyaratmosphere- Hey, don't go killing yourself now, lady. There are way too many of these sickos and not enough of us as it is.

Do what I do. Later tonight pour yourself a nice, stiff drink and relax with a blanket and a book.

As far as these people are concerned, throw the whole library at them. SHE HAD OPTIONS! I believe most parents know (or should, if they are responsible parents) that there are predators out there. Most parents take precaution, doing what they can to protect their children. What makes this story horrifying to me is that not only did this woman FAIL in her primary responsibility as a mother, she actively participated in the abuse. I'm sorry if her life was hard, life is not easy for anyone. If you cannot handle life, that sucks. Don't have kids, though. Once you have a baby, the rules change. YOU are now RESPONSIBLE for a human life. Deliberately endangering a child is not responsible.

The economy is causing a lot of people to do some pretty sick things these days. However, I believe it's a parent's job to shelter their child from things like this, so her arguments just don't hold any water.

I love Yuko's outfit! Cute, fashionable and her shoes are adorable! This is so much better than yesterday's pic!

@bamboohat- I agree completely. I can't imagine what this woman's financial circumstances were, but she had the option of whoring herself out before her child. I wonder why she didn't take it? I get offers for hostessing jobs all the time myself (Obviously I don't take them) so it can't be that difficult to get a job in an industry even lower than that! It's certainly better than the path she chose. The thing is, it's a slippery slope. You pimp out/abuse your kid once and it just gets easier to do that than get a real job. Besides, how long until the baby DOES remember? Some people do return memories from when they were babies. Sometimes people remember a traumatic event (molestation, rape, violent attacks) in vivid detail while others block those memories altogether. There really is no justification or good excuse for what she did and I hope the prosecutor's do what they can to protect this 1 year old baby.

A one year old child...an ACTUAL baby. It boggles the mind and makes you wish for a scotch and soda. Hopefully they get a long sentence and the baby has relatives to take her in. This child should never have to go back to that home. Whether she remembers it or not is irrelevant, you still pimped out your own baby. I hope this woman gets the mental help she obviously needs.

    @Miyaratmosphere- Domo arigato gozaimasu!

BTW, I'm not criticizing these women for their personality or physical attributes, I don't know them and they could be MENSA candidates for all I know. They certainly seem to be very pretty, though some posters have called them plain. I AM criticizing their atrocious fashion sense, and since they're models (modeling clothing, I presume), I think that's fair game. You don't need to be beautiful to wear clothing that is tasteful, well fitted and suits you. In fact, I've met women who could quite honestly be called busu who had no problem finding handsome, intelligent men simply by wearing clothes that made them look like a million bucks. These type of women have style, something that I wish was more in fashion here.

Nothing wrong with dating a good looking guy, but with the few ikemen that I've stupidly agreed to go on a date with the lack of conversation was....noticeable. Perhaps I've just had bad luck, but the ones I dated had the personality of a doily, boring and dusty. I love a good looking man (who doesn't like eye candy?) but unfortunately, that seems to be all they are. Sigh...these girls can have them. Might be a good thing, too. The boys can give them tips on proper hair care. :)

Are you kidding??? I love that Japan is so tolerant about drinking, how do you think I get through my weekends???

All they need to do is make it easier for alcoholics here to seek treatment. Don't change the drinking tolerant society!!! A drunk gaijin is a happy gaijin.

Posted in: Japan is too tolerant when it comes to drinking too much, which makes it hard for both society and alcoholics to realize they have a problem.

That's true, none of these girls would be interested in Richard III, he reads the newspaper. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe ikemen read much of anything. Besides, he's not missing much, you can find shabbily dressed women anywhere.

@dammit- I don't know where you're from, but in America they do have shelters for battered women to flee to. The murder of two small children is also something not taken lightly, and it usually receives a life sentence as punishment.

I don't know if this could truly be called a family, per se. The article says that they were the girlfriend's children, so these could be her children from a previous relationship. They have done studies which show the likelihood of child abuse rises in situations like this, so I'm not surprised, just saddened. What really appalls me is how the mother not only allowed this man to abuse her kids, but then aided him in disposing of the bodies! What kind of mother could allow that? Was she being abused or did she simply have nowhere to turn? We need to open up shelters for women like this to escape to in Japan! I can't say if it would have made a difference in this case, maybe the woman would have stayed, but if we can prevent one more case like this from happening in the future it is something the government needs to look into. The government is always yapping about children as a precious resource and the falling birthrate, so it's time to put the money where their mouth is and work on actual solutions. There should be no reason for this to happen in a civilized society.

To all the guys who are worried about going on a date with any of these horrors, I wouldn't worry. Like the gal says, they only like ikemen. Having met many of these male bimbos, I can assure you that your fears are entirely unfounded. They only like men who enjoy prattling about safe, boring topics they enjoy, food, cute animals, clothes, etc. Like attracts like, as they say.

Fingers crossed that they caught the right guy. Or at least a guy who can tell them where he got her card from.

I will never understand how a mother could allow any man (bf, husband, whatever) to hurt their children, let alone kill them. I'm not a mum, so maybe I'm missing something here, but isn't there something called a maternal instinct?

I guess this is my answer to JT's abortion rights question. Some people clearly don't have what it takes to be a parent.

Rest in peace to the children, they both led a short and probably sad existence.

Those stockings were all the rage last year in the U.S when Rihanna wore a pair. They're cute, but hardly what you would expect from "innovative" Japanese fashion. Also, the shirt and skirt? DAME, DAME, DAME. However, she is easily the best-dressed in the photo. Considering how easy a feat it is to stand out in this ill dressed group, it's hardly a compliment. My recommendation? A. All the girls need to brush their hair, the frizziness is appalling. B. Please don't wear pants that are ill-fitting and ripped, it doesn't work unless you're draped across a car in a whitesnake video. C. Black only works if you can wear tasteful accessories. Remember that less is more.
Other than that, physically the girls are very pretty, just bad taste in clothes.
