Now this is such a shame. I love the color black, simple and classic. Such a disgrace to see it tarted up this way. The one holding the mic looks like she just escaped being mauled, from the torn pants to the frizzy hair. Sigh...bad fashion all around. I have no problems with the hair, though, quite a common sight in Tokyo, really.

Why don't we all use a little common sense here? Maybe she did yell loudly for him to get off the ledge because it's dangerous, maybe she startled him, but did she directly put into motion this sequence of events? No. The dumb kid did by crawling onto the ledge of a third story building. That is in no way safe or smart. There's a high likelihood he would have fallen. For comparison's sake, let's say I come across a mugging, the mugger is holding a knife to the victim's chest. I yell out "Hey!", the mugger gets startled, stabs her and runs off. I then tackle him, restrain him, call the cops and an ambulance. The lady lives and he goes to jail. Would you question my heroism in that instance because I yelled at a mugger? A hero is a hero and I wish more people would recognize this woman's actions for what they are instead of nitpicking and trying to find fault. She did a GOOD THING, she rescued a kid! Besides, who wouldn't have yelled that it's dangerous? That's a pretty normal reaction, I'd say. She's a hero in my book.

This is one of the scariest incidents I've heard of in a while, it reminds me of how open the Lincoln's White House was. Scary... My question is WTH? We know there have been death threats against Obama from the start of his campaign, but we're just letting anybody get in to see him? Does this make any sense? Can the Secret Service please just try to do their jobs?

Takashi looks like a samurai version of Jack Sparrow, is that costume truly historically accurate?

Ahh...history aside, he looks very dreamy. :)

Japan needs more people like this woman, seriously. Kawaii/kakkoii are way overrated, I prefer what this lady has. Courage, community spirit and bravery. I won't hold my breath, but I hope the mainstream Japanese media will cover this story and not just JT. I would rather see this woman on TV than that useless talent they usually have.

Give this lady a medal for awesomeness, or at least a best-ist award. How about best-ist community spirit?

@Yelnats- Too funny! I do almost the same thing on the Chuo line! Except the shaved head bit, that would be a little too weird for this girl. However, I always get a seat to myself and no chikan, so it's a win-win!

@daigoro- It's not that Japan produces more criminals with "issues" but that Japan always demands an explanation from criminals. You actually see this phenomena in everyday life as well, most Japanese people seem to want to know every little detail about me, from my blood type to where I grew up...to.. .etc. etc. It's a culture where there is no such thing as TMI and that, I believe, is the crucial difference. Criminals in America won't usually personally tell you their motivations, for the simple fact that we don't care. Unless your crime is infamous, we usually don't want an explanation because we've already written you off as a sick person and don't care what your "reason" was. Here, they care about the reason.

Love the punk rock hairdo on Tsuchiya san. Is it a homage to Cyndi Lauper, maybe?

Makeup can't fix a negative attitude, or the fact that she focuses on men to the point of obsession.

@nandakandamanda- How many people watch horror movies who DON'T dismember people? Let's face it, horror movies are a red herring. It's far better for the police to research the other leads they have instead of invading the privacy of people who rent horror movies. Besides, what are they classifying as horror here? Zombie b-movies, Takashii Miike films or some of those really sick snuff style films?
I would like the police to focus on researching every VALUABLE angle and ignore anything that would just waste time. I think one of my biggest complaints with the Ichihashi investigation was how the police followed some of the most bizarre angles (he's in Shinjuku having homosexual sex, he dresses in drag to evade capture) while almost ignoring valuable ideas. I just don't want to see this case ending up with the same conclusion, a frightening sociopath on the loose for 2 years. This girl deserves better than that, and like I wrote before, this guy will probably do this again.
My advice? Follow up on that vehicle, canvass the neighborhoods, ask people if they have noticed any men who happened to take an unusual interest in her. Follow VALUABLE leads, don't get bogged down in crazy hypothetical hobbies. The police can examine his DVD collection once they've caught this guy.

@tigerguy- I seriously doubt this case has anything to do with movies. The police mentioned earlier that they were looking into that angle, but I doubt anything will turn up that way. They're better off looking into that vehicle that drove by her route home. Anyway, horror movies are just fiction and if they weren't around, these unstable creeps would get their ideas somewhere else.

Whether this perpetrator is a first timer or not, this girl won't be his last. I hope they catch this guy soon and that no one else gets killed.

@SiouxGirl- Hope you like it , I'm a fan of nearly anything that gets me drunk, but I really like rose' above all. I'm with you on the vermouth bath, though I think it would probably be your last bath, depending on how long you spent in it.
