If I were a guy, I would be running FAR away. This woman doesn't need a boyfriend, she needs counseling.

She's famous for staying in a marriage with a man she hates that she's threatened with a knife?
If this is what the media is putting out there as a role model for women here, I feel sorry for married people.
No wonder marriage rates are dropping.

i think there's a huge difference between a soldier and a guy who is accused of luring a younger woman to his home, killing her and leaving her in a bathtub full of sand. I also don't hear so much about these guys having fan clubs, so I'll save my indignation for this case.

B.N is nothing special, it's just cheap table wine. As such, bathing in it seems a pretty appropriate use. Now, a nice rose' de Provence on the other hand............

Yeah....he's cool all right. Nothing cooler than having a boyfriend who is accused of murder. He's just the guy to take home to Mum and Dad. Nothing screams "failure" like dating a guy accused of a violent crime. I'm sure the parents of all these young women must be SOOO proud.

So pretty! I have to disagree though, blue lights are popular back home in the States, too. no big difference from the displays I'm used to, except maybe a little more low-key.

OMG, too pathetic. By the logic of some of the posters on this site, I have the right to steal a drunk oyaji's wallet in a bar. After all, wasn't he asking for it by being drunk in public when he could have just been drunk at home? Slacks, skirts, who cares? Women have a right to wear what they want without being molested. If I go to a jewelry store and see something sparkly on display and want it, does that give me the right to touch it or take it home with me?

I was referring to the fact that for an officer of the law it is a little easier to intimidate people, much more so than your average oyaji or freeter.
It's one of those tricks of the trade, especially for someone who's risen to the post of an assistant inspector.
If you can't intimidate a criminal, you would be a failure at your job.
Ergo, it would be a lot easier to intimidate a young woman on the train.

Why is it always Saitama? Seriously. Saitama is like Japan's worst place to live, judging by crime reports.

That hypothetical 21 year old American girl is just that. The real victim here was a 21 year old Japanese girl, on a Tokyo train.
Another thing, the perp was a cop. It's scary enough to speak up against a normal guy, what about an officer of the law? Don't blame the victim here, I'd like to see you deal with it if you were in her shoes.

Condolence letters are nice, convictions are nicer.
Posted in: I decided to write the letter as I felt sorry for the parents, who have a favorable impression of Japan. Friendly relations between Japan and Britain mustn't be spoiled by the incident.

The problem is that none of these women actually BELIEVE he would ever hurt them. Why would he? They're not foreign. Not one of these women can clearly see him for what he is, an opportunistic sadist who hurts WOMEN. They just see him as a guy who made the "mistake" of murdering a foreigner. He's well-off, reasonably educated and they think he's cute (still can't wrap my head around that one) so he's a great catch.
Delusional thinking, ladies.
Still, no matter how crazy these women may be, none of them deserves to be his next victim. Let's hope this saga wraps up soon with a life sentence (at least) for this guy.

At least the Japanese people aren't taking offense at his awkward bow, thank goodness. Though I'm still a little disappointed his staff didn't give him a basic tutorial on bowing, maybe they will be a little more on top of things for his next visit.
