Keep it up and that laugh is gonna be wiped off your face....you lose if you go up against a automobile with a bike....

Riding a bicycle on the street is a very high risk activity. Do not do it. Riding a motorcycle is a very high risk activity...do not do it! Driving a car is a high risk activity also, but at least there is some protection.

When I read about all the money that is spent on keeping citizen's safe from mad men who are out to harm us and then reading about this tragic story......I have to say just how misguided we the citizens are.

How in the world can it be allowed to mix a bike with an automobile on the same road? Imagine if all the money that is wasted on imaginary dangers is placed into preventing real dangers that we face each day just by being alive? I know society can not protect everyone all the time, but a lot could be done to give people the choice to take the safest course...like the crossing in Las Vegas....you walk over the street and avoid the traffic.

Riding a bike on a busy street?...you might as well just start walking in the traffic.....Ok, it you r life so it is up to you, but putting children in danger is another matter altogether..right?

"Spirited Away" is a common Japanese phrase used to refer to children who go missing suddenly, mostly through abduction.

There are good and bad spirits....

What she did was illegal in America but legal in Japan. There needs to be clear cut laws on jurisdiction, who decides what and when. The "abductions" work both ways. So many posters think American law good Japanese bad. There has to be a way to respect the traditions and laws of both.

If you are a citizen of a country living within its border, you live within that law. Plain and simple. I find it funny when humans try to justify illegal actions.

China Airlines Flight 006 on February 19, 1985 was a flight from Taipei to Los Angeles. After ten hours of flight the Boeing 747SP-09 aircraft lost power in one of its four engines. Although they had several minutes to do so, the pilots failed to adjust the controls to counteract the asymmetric thrust due to the failed engine. The aircraft eventually rolled over and plunged 30,000 ft (9,100 m), experiencing high speeds and very high forces. The pilots recovered control and diverted to San Francisco. Two people had serious injuries and the aircraft sustained substantial damage.

    Happy Flying!

I noticed there was some opinions about G force etc.......Japan Real Time states:

*Investigators said the co-pilot was quite experienced, with more than 35,000 total hours of flight time. Nonetheless, according to investigators, the slip-up cause** a roll and descent so violent that the jet exceeded certain maximum allowable speeds and also was subjected to stresses beyond its acceleration limits.**

Those passengers who did not realize the so called gravity of the situation.....must of felt and heard something was not right...no doubt if it had been daylight they would of been able to see it to!

The safety board will continue the investigation, while a company spokeswoman said ANA will take preventative measures to make sure that pilots do a double-check on where the controls are located as they leave and return to the cockpit. The company said it will also try to improve its reporting* lines, admitting that officials were not aware of the incident until the following day.

    <(the deadliest single-aircraft disaster in history) Source: Wikiped**i>a **

Since JAL 123 came up in the posting about this incident I reviewed the crash.

    ......

the accident report states that a bulkhead ruptured, causing the loss of the vertical fin and all hydraulics. The crew had no way to control the plane except by adjusting engine throttles. They flew the plane expertly with what controls they had and kept it aloft for about a half hour, but the plane finally crashed into a mountain, killing 520 of the 524 on board (the deadliest single-aircraft disaster in history). Investigators later attributed the bulkhead rupture to damage from a tail strike six years earlier.

Some experts claim that the repairs to the tail were not done per procedure as stated Boeing.

All 15 crew members and 505 out of 509 passengers died, resulting in a total of 520 deaths and four survivors.

The 4 survivors....I wonder what they have been up since the crash? Anyone watch the movie Final Destination? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1144884/

The survivors were Yumi Ochiai (落合 由美 Ochiai Yumi?), an off-duty JAL flight attendant, age 25, who was jammed between a number of seats; Hiroko Yoshizaki (吉崎 博子 Yoshizaki Hiroko?), a 34-year-old woman and her 8-year-old daughter Mikiko Yoshizaki (吉崎 美紀子 Yoshizaki Mikiko?), who were trapped in an intact section of the fuselage; and a 12-year-old girl, Keiko Kawakami (川上 慶子 Kawakami Keiko?), who was found wedged between branches in a tree.[6]

The video attempts to show what was going on in the cockpit when the crew tried to save the aircraft......Oh, I almost forgot......Good Luck the next time you take to the skies. May your final destination be a safe return to where you started from!

How do you not know he was just acting in the interest of national security just like TSA does before you board an airplane? Does anyone know if you have to get groped in japan before getting on an airplane?
