From a general user's point of view, Facebook has replaced the internet using habit of Emails, chatting, messaging, making new friends, geo position sharing (checkig in) etc. into a new revolutionary way.
Everything has a pick time and there after it will be either stagnant or deteriorate. But Facebook has still a long way to expand and until any new super innovative startup pops out with enough investment to show minimum challenge this growing giant.
To say about Google, people still feel easy to googling for anything they wanna search and gmail, android OS, adsense are the things that will prevail in the long run as people are being benefited from these and nothing clash with the usage of Facebook.
