I feel imported foods are generally safer than those produced in Japan. Why? Because I think that imported foods are tested more stringently than those produced in this country. I do not believe the Ministry of Agriculture tests Japanese products that efficiently.

As far as most gaijin are concerned anything new from Panasonic is a complete load of rubbish and are useless. I purchased a Lumix DMC-FS20 expecting it to be at least as good or better than the Lumix I gave my girlfriend a few months before. Then when I used it, I discovered that or language menus other than Japanese had been removed. Panasonic helpline refuses to help.
I suspect this new feature (or lack of features) will find its way into the whole range.
My advice: steer clear of Lumix and Panasonic products unless you are Japanese.

Airlines do have seats of different sizes: Economy, Business, First. If someone cannot fit in an Economy seat, it would be a good idea to make them buy one bigger seat rather than two Economy tickets. How do sumo wrestlers fly? I assume First Class.

Bungleer, Japan has just become one of those countries. Buckling up in the back is mandatory. I have been asked to do it in small buses. I am not sure about full size buses. It must be hard if you are standing.

At one time I used to blame the high school teachers. However, they are doing their job well. The problem is their job is to get their students through exams which put too much attention on grammatical accuracy. They do that well. So, where does the fault lie? It lies in the job description, get them through the exam, and with those who set it. In fact, it lies with those who have decided to teach students never to make mistakes and not to take chances. I teach students that it is ok to speak English badly and make mistakes because if they don't, they will never make progress and speak it well later.

Fawlty Towers and Monty Python are obvious. What about Dave Allen? Get Smart was also good. It is hard to get it down to five. There is also Hancock'd Hslf Hour, which did have a TV version. Spike Milligan also did some TC stuff.

Yes, there is good pizza in Japan. Go to Tonino at Shimo-Takaido. It is in between the Keio Line and Setagaya Line, so easy to find. Tony, who gave his name to the restaurant, comes from Ischia. Alternatively, go to Eifukucho. Cross the main road when you leave the station and got down the shopping street. Take the first left and you will soon come to a Pizzeria. I haven't been there for some time so it would be nice to have an update, but Massimo from Naples was the cook when I last went there. These places are always full so it is best to book first. Neither of these are chain restaurants and both serve Italian rather than American or Japanese pizza.

Was the drug labeled "property of Japan Customs" or something like that? If not, this guy must have been pretty stupid or naive to take it to the police. That was asking for trouble. The story does not say how many hours, or weeks, for that matter, he spent in the police station unitl the truth came out.
Also, why was it necessary to use 142gm for the test. That seems a bit excessive. If you want to test the dog, surely 1gm would be enough.
I suppose like so many stories in Japan it will not be investigated to find and reveal the details.
