It only makes sense to encourage contraception and responsible breeding. Catholics should give their head a slap and realize it would reduce abortions for accidental pregnancies.

What makes you think Catholics don't? As the article says "A brace of new polls show a majority of Catholics [...] support the president’s position". The Church on the other hand... just as out of step as the Republicans.

Within the next few decades Europe will transform from a christian/secular society into an islamic one.

Nonsense. This is run-of-the-mill "Eurabian" twaddle, having more to do with xenophobia than with real demographics.

" The scale of the bloodshed, the military weapons used, and the fact that the robberies often involved relatively small amounts of money sparked suspicions that right-wing terrorists may have been behind the attacks.

*Typical mainstream media spin. In fact, looking at the scale of the bloodshed and the fact it was at a Christmas market would suggest that islamist extremist were involved. *

The above quote clearly refers to the “mad killers of Brabant”. Too busy trying to shoehorn evil Islamists and bad media that you didn't bother reading... not surprising though.

Besides making things overcomplicated, it is going to take a massive change in thinking and total belief in the system to press an accelerator pedal, with the brake when you want to stop quickly.

Not really. You're just supposed to press the brake. The brake override cuts the throttle even if you press both by mistake.

These are antagonist sent there to scream and holler and just disrupt the messenger's answers to those who want to hear something. But they can't get their messege through the distractions.

They aren't un-American, they're just rude and out of line.

Hate to disagree. But yeah they are un-American. it's one thing to voice a different opinion. It's quite another to try and shut down discussion altogether.

Current US healthcare is so bad that Canadians arrive at our border state hospitals cash in hand.

Some have never heard of the growth industry that is Medical Tourism. From hundred, to thousands and, soon, millions of Americans traveling abroad to get medical treatment. And we're not talking only for elective or cosmetic surgery but for everything from bypasses, to hip replacements, and liver transplants. Not just dental work across the border in Mexico but heart surgery in India and Thailand. US insurance companies are even starting to include these foreign procedures in their coverage.

    Now, why is this?

Did I man up enough now?

I don't know what you want to call that outburst of weirdness.

It should involve something like this: stop whining about how "unfairly" she's been treated, trotting out Track Palin (plenty of military families out there) for political mileage.

Sarah Palin's not a "dolt, ...blah blah horrible human being". Again, with the poor victim spiel? Really?

She's not vice presidential material but she's smart enough to know where her best interests lie. Raking in the cash in the private sector. Don't worry, she'll be fine.

Track Palin, Sarah's teenage son shipped to Iraq on Sept. 11th.

    Cue violins now.

Oh, please. Enough with the whining. Time to man up for crying out loud.

If you can't stand the heat... get out of the damned kitchen.

There was a time when a person could run for Mayor in a small town,... that she caught national attention to be picked as a potential Vice President of the United States.

Help!! ...drowning in incredible amount of self-pitying drivel. Help! Truly pathetic.

Palin has the potential to make far more money in the private sector than the $125,000 or so she has been making as governor.

    Bingo!

It's obvious that the criticism of his first response got to him - or his handlers I should say - and he is getting tougher.

Always a laugh from the peanut gallery. Does the term self-defeating ring a bell?

But seriously, so far deftly handled by the C-in-C.

How long are you folks going to give Obama a pass?

It's not a pass. He gets my/our approval as long as he's doing the right thing and not a moment longer. So, far he's handling the Iran situation rather well and even very well by any standard.

When are you going to look past last November and get back to somewhat reasonable rational discourse again? C'mon.

Saddam didn't have a dozen nuclear facilities, over 3000 centrifuges, and enough uranium hexafluoride gas to make 100 nuclear bombs.

Clearly an issue which begs for the kind of foreign policy competence in the White House never demonstrated during the previous administration. Political posturing for domestic audience instead of policy to an end, they just can't help themselves.

It's an encouraging step. But it's still too early to tell whether it's indicative of real move toward a smarter Cuba policy aimed at nudging the island nation along on the path to democracy.

Oh, and it's further, not farther, Ms Muñoz.

I can't believe he was actually excommunicated over a historical debate.

He wasn't. I suggest you read the article again.

A man has a right to whatever his mind wishes for him to believe.

He sure does. And the Church has a right not to admit a Holocaust denier as a bishop.

Sarge, apparently doesn't know that New Orleans was founded by the French 290 years ago on high ground (the areas that didn't flood). Nor does he seem to understand that the Port of New Orleans can't be moved elsewhere... a clue, it has to do with the Mississippi River and the Gulf.

Palin is quite right, these critics are cowardly. But then, just what did Palin expect from these people?

Sailwind, Enough already. Spare us the sour grapes please. Your guy lost. To say that the few weeks of media scrutiny Sarah Palin's was subjected to even remotely compares to the months of intense scrutiny Obama was subjected since he announced his candidacy is just ludicrous. To say that Obama is a man you "really know nothing about", well that's just plainly untrue.
