    It is most sad news.... Didn't see it at all mentioned on Japanese TV. Perhaps NZ isn't important enough compared to Chile.. Really is most sad and heart goes out to all the families and people involved...

    I hate the way the Chilean President has jumped onto this rescue bandwagon and milked it for all it's worth. Instead of rejoicing he should be apologising for the unsafe conditions that all miners in Chile have to work under. This accident is his responsibility to deal with and he should be using the word sorry instead of waving his Chilean flag all over the news. Kind of disgraceful that he has taken a potentially grieving incident and turned it into media spin. Glad they all made it out and the rescue teams too.

    What happens to the homeless and who pays for his health care..? Will those young boys really get punished to the extent that they should... After all the homeless aren't even counted for on the unemployed percentage....

    I guess she had more air time than any of the natural disasters in the world.. earthquakes, floods... not to mention the disaster with the oil... Guess it didn't really affect the Japanese as she does...

    This is very sad.... what is happening to the youths. Does anyone know who pays for the hospital charges for the homeless guy?? In this case would the boys (and their parents) be liable or does the government look after the homeless in this case. I can't imagine the homeless guy having insurance....
