One of my wife's friends is into this. They have a store cum cafe in the boonies in Miyazaki selling macrobiotic stuff, things like makomo(derived from reeds and powdered), genmai everything, organic everything. No refined sugars, no chemicals etc.
Yeah, expensive stuff. Funny, this couple that ran the store are not very happy with their lives and the wife got some kind of cancer later on, yeah, while on this super healthy macrobiotic diet.
So imo, don't sweat that you have to eat the most nutritious food to be super healthy. Exercise and a good outlook on live are just as important. Actually positive thinking is the most important factor to keeping/maintaining good health and it's pretty much free. PS these are just my opinions, I'm not a doctor, don't play one on tv or have a podcast about healthy living.
