The waitress had just put the bowl of ramen in the table, and the soup started rolling around and spilling on the table. Luckily I did not get any on my clothes.

My comment above, witih a record 15 down votes:
"It was the western nations that depleted whales, not Japan. But now they make it look like it is all Japan's fault."
Does not relate to whether I support whaling. It says that it is hypotrical to blame Japan for everything. If Japan had true representative government, which it does not (no re-apportionment), there would be no whaling. But Japans government is controled by country bumpkins. This problem is just an example of the lack of true democracy in Japan. Incidentally, whaling is a big waste of tax money and should be stopped. It was the only food after the war, but few people like it.

The reason "Smart Phones" did not take off in Japan is because Japanese phones were already smart. Most fo the stuff smart phones were supposed to be great for were already on regular cell phones. And there is a right wing current saying that the reason for the Galopagos effect is that Japanese are the only ones smart enough to use them (on Ch. 2).

Now if only he can pull himself together and start writing great songs again. That is why his sentence was suspended. The judge is giving him a chance to vindicate himself.

I have a modest proposal: Let's let convenience stores sell poison you can use to commit suicide in your own room without bothering anyone. For sale to adults of course, like alcohol. I have no pity for these people. They are such drama queens, jumping in front of a train. Really!

I wonder if he has to pay both income taxes in the US and Japan. The Americans in my office are always complaining about double taxation of US and Japan.

The CM says "couple", but they don't show the husband. I wonder who it is. I know she is very 80s, but we gays still lover her! You can still hear her songs sung at bars all around ni-chome.

gokai is actually Japanese. All I can do is let my passport expire. But US guys working at my office agree. They went through the trouble to get PR here. But they still think that people can do foolish things when they are young. The whole person should be seen.

Let's try this out in Japan. I know a few Chinese who made a bad decision when they were young to overstay their visa and are working in the shadows. They speak Japanese fluently and love being in Japan. They should not be sent back to China. If we cannot give them permission to stay, lets not give permission for them to be deported. Like the US.

Not to be a downer, but remember that last year Cilic was banned for drug use. So I wonder.

A main problem according to a subtitle writer friend I know is that reading level of about 70% of Americans are too low to read subtitles. As a rule, subtitles can only be 5 to 7 words, so lots gets lost making the movie less interesting.

Japan is Back! Well, actually I know Japan has never been there, but still. It is the sentiment, and I'm not even a tennis fan. It is inspiring to see what you can do when you have the guts and perseverence to do stuff.

Yes, I agree with the above. The firebombing and atom bombing of Japan was done by the US, not China. There were no Chinese involved in the invastion of Okinawa or Saipan or anywhere else. I love going to China and I'm treated very well by Chinese, but the government is completely different. Fortunately, ordinary Chinese ignore all this.

Americans are in total denial about the catastrophy that was the Bush administration. This is what continues to haunt Obama administration. It's probably too late to save the world anyway.

"restoring its pride"? When did N Korea not have pride? They seem a very proud people to me, at least as far as they protray themselves in the media (I've never been there). All those big parades and the mass games.
Posted in: Kim Jong Un was not involved at all. By resolving the abduction problem at this point, it could be the start of North Korea restoring its pride. I’m hoping Kim will have these feelings.

Well, as usual, the Europeans were there 100 years before the Japanese doing their atrocities on the Chinese, but the Japanese get most mention. Fortunateliy, ordinary Chinese don't care about this (except a fringe group). The government seems to have a hard time getting Chinese interested. Instead, Chinese come and visit Japan in record numbers.
