Badsey posted a reference to why the IRS was not a part of the federal government. It was the opinion of:
Paul Andrew Mitchell, B.A., M.S.
Paul does not have his J.D., LL.M., J.S.D, or S.J.D. although he does claim to be a Private Attorney General. Look that one up it is a riot.
Badsey must believe that the U.S. government allows this corporation to lie about being part of the treasury as evidenced on their website. http://www.irs.gov/irs/article/0,,id=98141,00.html
Well come to find out even the U.S. Department of Treasury believes that the IRS is a bureau of the Treasury and thus a part of the Federal Government.

At least part of the Stimulus Bill saved us from a second depression. The conservatives will call the measures prosaic but I would call them more of a cure for the economic depression; kinda like you call it prosaic I call it prozac.

Great story. Better for someone like me than some "great visual effects" movie. Do I have this correct? He laid her down, tucked in her limbs and went into a space underneath the platform. Truly spectacular. I agree with presto, this man is a real hero.

At least someone makes sense. It is a business contract; so make it clear to overweight people in advance what the deal is.

Great comment. So many comments that reveal insecure people. Another aspect is the mob mentality. I found it particularly revealing when someone commented that we are finally all in agreement or something along those lines. I have always found the individual to be extremely insecure and the rallying cry nature confirms it more now than ever.

Hiring Cheney to be V.P. was the biggest blunder of Bush's presidency. The second was listening to him blubber on and on.
Cheney was a major source of the U.S. ending up in Iraq. That stupid diversion created terrorists that did not exist before. That stupid diversion made us look weak in Afghanistan because we spent years there without proper troop levels.
Odogma (RR) can't deal with the truth about what a loser Dick really was so he uses his own diversionary tactics.

In the end it all boils down to what China will allow in the Security Council. If we can't get China to agree we are helpless in getting stronger measures.

In the end nobody listens to Cheney; except for the right wing nut jobs on JT.
Now, let us hear from the right wingers on Biden; right wingers that nobody listens to either.

yabits:
I am simply arguing the definition of obstruction. If you know me you'll know I take an honest approach and let the chips fall where they may. I would have labeled either attempts at "blocking" an appointment from reaching a full Senate vote or "blocking" legislation from being voted on by the full Senate by winning a cloture vote as being obstructionist. I gave no vested interest in the merits of such tactics. As far as I am concerned if the Democrats do it I find it acceptable and when the Republicans do it I find it repugnant.
I am partisan. So What! However I don't change definitions to suit some frivolous news comment.
Molenir said:
Another laughable comment. That would not be obstruction (capital letter or not); that would be ineffectiveness.
Of course Molenir has it completely backwards. It is obstruction when either party does it. He even used the words "Holding up;" a euphemism for blocking.
But what I found most humorous was the fact that he said it wasn't obstruction because they had been doing it forever or his latest "People from both parties have used that trick, and many others to get their way. So trying to blame Republicans for being "obstructionist" over nominees is nonsense." It is totally non sequitur. There is absolutely no relevance of how long the U.S. Senate has been using practices as to the definition of obstruction. Even if it is not obstruction, or blocking legislation and blocking appointments, it still would not be so, just because they have been doing it forever. The definition is what it is regardless of how long people do or don't do it. Furthermore, the definition doesn't change because both parties do it.

I could go on and on about China's addiction and reliance on America's consumption practices. I could tell you how dangerous it is to cut off the gravy train. I could give examples of emerging economies that want to buy our dollars and also replace Chinese goods but I would rather take tclh's approach.
The Dalai Lama is a gentle, peaceful, desirable being of the human race and should be welcomed by western leaders if not embraced. We will not stand by and allow China to take away our humanity just because their leaders lack it.

Hopefully now, with Obama sending in a lot more troops, they will train some Afghan troops and begin a turnaround in the sense of Afghans taking on more responsibility for their country. Yes, we also need a political solution with the Taliban. But I still think force is needed to make a separation between the Taliban and al Qaida. As I said quite a long time ago we need to make deals with the poppy growers or whoever to win this conflict. We can't have political stability in the middle of a war without military stability. Then we can't maintain military stability without political stability.

Molenir said hilariously:
Oh that is priceless. The only thing he could have added was "unless the Democrats are doing it of course." I am quite sure he has such intentions. Above you are seeing the truest of true Molenir.
Simply hilarious! Keep up the good work Molenir!

Taka, I have to disagree. I want Sarah to only run for president. I would be happy if she begins as a Republican and then she can run a third party campaign if she so chooses. I also want the the Tea(bagger) Party to become a third party and show the Republicans a little competition.

I can just imagine hearing that in Bill's voice. I also share a love of cigars with Bill. Hopefully the rumors of Bill Clinton behaving with his diet and lifestyle are true and this is just an anomaly that is often foreseen by doctors anyway.

He sounds like a brave man doing the grunt work of democracy. Some here choose to call him an idiot. He sounds more like a true hero to me. My forefathers broke the law many times to free itself of a much less tyrannical situation. Nyi Nyi Aung and his family seems committed to bring democracy into Myanmar. For that I give him my respect.
