Where was Todd Palin the former Governor of Alaska?

Run Sarah run! Run as an independent, run as a Republican, just run.

I am begging Sarah Palin to run for President. I will grovel if I have to; so please run Sarah.

JoeBigs, I think you are right on target. I also think Molenir is an evangelical and thus supports whatever they do.

Obama is a lot closer to a Marxist than a capitalist.

Anybody who says that or believes that is a fool. Go ahead and spit out that extremist right rhetoric and show yourself to be a sheep.

Obama's plans to aid small businesses is a great plan that would help a great sector of American success continue to prove the American entrepreneur will always be a vital sector of our economy.

    Wolfpack,

Try as you might to leave us in the 20th century, we are moving forward. It makes sense in Germany, Netherlands and Japan, and it makes sense in the U.S. We can always depend on the conservatives to try to hold back progress. The trains are packed where I come from and a high speed rail would be packed also.

Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood and members of Congress have acknowledged they expect much of the expertise and equipment to be supplied by foreign companies.

If the progressives would have had their way 20 years ago we would now be using domestic expertise and equipment to continue to build high speed rails and this would not be news because we would already have extensive networks of suitable trains for the 21st century.

Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula originally took credit for the attack, but by issuing this message, bin Laden seems to be indicating that he himself is ordering attacks, rather than just putting his seal of approval on events afterward.

Or he is lying. I believe he is lying. I don't think he ordered the attack. I think Al-Qaida is weak as a top down organization. I don't believe, as an organization, they have a central authority that is able to convey all of its wishes to the many branches of Al-Qaida. I believe Osama is excellent at recruitment but poor at controlling the many factions. Many of us have known recruiters who can bullshit but do little else then send poor unsuspecting souls to war. I believe the various factions of Al-Qaida mostly act independently. I don't think OBL had a clue of the Christmas Day attempt. But one thing is clear; either he did not know and he is lying or he knew and Al-Qaida can't even make a worthy bomb when they get so fortunate as to get someone aboard a plane. Al-Qaida is very good at improvised bombs; wouldn't it stand to reason that this would be of the highest priority for success?

OBL just wants the glory for this. He is insignificant if he can't be personally involved in acts of terror. He is stuck in the mountains holed up in some cave with all his major lines of communication cut. He has to resort to messenger service to accomplish anything.

It does not matter what this Federal Court decides; the U.S. Supreme Court will strike down any decision to allow gay marriage.

It is highly unlikely that the people who believe our earth is around 6,000 years old will believe that it was not Jewish slaves who built the pyramids. That consists of a huge number of people.

The truth of the matter was summed up nicely.

If she were to seek the presidency, her new job would provide yet another stage from which to advance her conservative platform. Former Arkansas Gov Mike Huckabee, who sought the presidency in 2008, also hosts a talk show on Fox News and hasn’t ruled out another run for president.

    Molenir said:

As the article says, Dems are beginning to wake up to the reality, that the more they push their agenda, the more likely they'll lose control of congress.

It most certainly does not state that! Nowhere in the article is there even a hint that the Democrats are realizing their agenda is causing them to lose control of Congress. Nowhere in the article does it state that the author of the article believes or anyone else believes that.

Typical Molenir, can't seprate the truth from the editorializing going on in his head.

    The article says:

underscoring the perilous political environment for President Barack Obama’s party as anti-incumbent sentiment ripples across the nation.

The article reinforces the "anti-incumbent sentiment" thesis by stating:

The Democrats are seeking to hang onto comfortable majorities in Congress and a slim edge among governors in a year when voters are angry at lawmakers of all political stripes and likely to punish the party in power.

It just goes to show that Molenir cannot discern the truth; as I have said all along. Of course WilliB is right there behind him quoting him.

I am not saying that Molenir's claim that "that the more they push their agenda, the more likely they'll lose control of congress" is not up for debate; although I vehemently disagree. I am simply saying that the article does not contain any reference and Molenir said it did. Molenir may want to read an article before he states, "as the article says." He may also wish to ignore the editorializing going on in his head when paraphrasing the news.

I expect the Democrats to lose more than 30 seats in the House. I also expect the Democrats to lose the 60/40 majority in the Senate needed to win cloture votes. The Democrats could face a crushing defeat this Autumn but it seems unlikely at the moment. I saw Newt Gingrich on a show and he said that if the Republicans want to win a back either house they need to become less the party of "no" and more the party that presents a clear alternative choice. Although I don't especially care for Newt, I do recognize his political savvy.

The days where Republicans can just say Jesus and Terrorists a lot and win elections are over (except for "the South"). I think most of these elections will be a battle for both parties and will often be based on local issues.

If he had been a US service wo/man who had infiltrated an enemy occupying base, the word used would be "hero". Parades, medals and flag draped casket.

Maybe so, but not if he was a suicide bomber. We don't infiltrate to kill ourselves taking others with us; we infiltrate to gather intelligence. Then we bomb later. We don't get all those virgins in heaven later on.

Once again, good luck to the opposition of the hardliners. I hope they are patient and building coalitions for a revolution. It would be a very tough battle to win. It will take political persuasion of the masses.
