A cast of 300 advises Obama on Foreign Policy - NY Times, July 21

Well, if that's what he needs, so be it. They brief on the major developments of the past 24 hours and provide him with answers to questions likely to be asked.

Q: Should new security agreements include a timetable for troop withdrawal? Obama!: "Genuine opportunity."

Why is Obama being handed bullet points to answer the most basic of foreign policy questions?

"Withdrawal" turns out to be a mistranslation, by the way, but it's besides the point. The point is, why does he need a running tutorial from recycled Clinton administration officials (nine of 13 were high-ranking members of Clinton's staff)? This is the team that prepared the way for 9/11 attacks, pushed frantically for failed Middle-East peace with terrorist Arafat, allowed Baby Kim to develop nuclear weapons on their watch, allowed the Oil For Food scandal to occur right under their noses ... the list goes on an on.

The drive-by media has yet to apolgize for the reporting of the mistranslation. Now, they've decided the translation is "time horizons". With the associated press doing Obama's! dirty work for him, how is it possible to have a fair debate on his policies and viewpoints?

Obama is the Paris Hilton of politics. A celeb, but nobody knows why.

What a joke that he made the all-star team.

Let's see 8 homers through 2/3 of the season means he'll hit about 12 this year. After averaging, what, 20/year, in Japan? Is it fair to say that Japanese players coming to the U.S. will hit about 60% as many homers as they did in the Japan League? Matsui never came close to 40 let alone the 55 he hit in his best season in Japan.

If you say he has 200 homers, that means he is not a rookie, right, and can't be eligible for rookie of the year. Sounds about right.

Greyhound transport has been the worst form of transportation in Canada for many years now. It is full of drifters, dopers and people from the bottom of the barrel. This is a perfect example of animal behaviour.

U.S. is pretty much the same so I never use it. Always stuck next to some junkie or single mom.

Who reads books anymore? The internet is going to make books a thing of the past. No one has the attention span for them anymore. The internet has everything you need to know.

zurcranium says: Hoover was a republican and one of the models for the bush trainwreck administration.

so why is Obama modeling his economic policies after Hoover's?

I think there are much better ways to keep in shape.

Sure, there can only be one No. 1 exercise. No one can argue with you there. Are you saying there is no value in this exercise? I say it's important to hit the abs from a variety of angles. This is certainly a unique exercise working not only the abs but the inner thighs.

    Congratulations to the photographer.

Obama thinks increased spending and a massive tax rise are just what America needs. Same as Hoover. He would impose tariffs as well. This is sure to aggravate the recession into a depression. Hoover did the same thing and created the greatest human tragedy in history. That's the thing about the old guy - he knows history a little better. When are people going to recognize Obama as the joke that he is?

Obama seems unable to admit that he has been wrong about the surge. Also, opposing the war in his ultra-liberal state senate district was not politically courageous.

McCain didn't get an endorsement from the Dalai, but "total consciousness" (much like the groundskeeper in Caddyshack). Obama could use some of that.

Backing the surge in Iraq, right as it was, may have cost McCain the election.

As far as not trusting Obama, here's some proof:

    • "As we speak, cars in Boston and factories in Beijing are melting the ice caps in the Arctic . . ."--Barack Obama, Berlin, July 24, 2008

    • "New data from the Norwegian Meteorological Institute shows that there is more ice than normal in the Arctic waters north of the Svalbard archipelago. In most years, there are open waters in the area north of the archipelago in July month. Studies from this year however show that the area is covered by ice, the Meteorological Institute writes in a press release."--Barents Observer (Kirkenes, Norway), July 24

Obama is a Tiger Woods w/o the golf clubs (and the great looking wife). Both tout their black heritage and completely ignore their mothers were a different race.

Most likely, people looked at them, and "touted" their black heritage for them. It's not something you decide for yourself.
