    Police eventually arrested the youths...

By this, I take it that there was a chase? Must have passed below my window last night. They were sure after someone. I live 10 minutes from Nishiarai. I'll sure be glad to move away from the busy street we live on come September cause of those "cute,"(as ihavegreatlegs claims) annoying as heck, bosozoku. Sometimes they are pretty amazing to watch, though. I counted 50 of them one summer buzzing, blasting and braying past us at the beach in Chiba.

I have never heard of this group before. Are they famous or am I behind the times? After listening to their music on iTunes, I feel a bit silly for at first confusing their name il-divo for Devo? You know, as in the group that sang "Whip it."

The keitai warnings are great, hope they keep that up.

Debucho are you referring to the iphone app ゆれくる? I've found it hit or miss. Usually it chimes me just as the quake hits or a little after, but a couple days ago it actually gave me a 16 second warning, while last night it didn't even chime at all. I have it set to warn me for level 3 quakes or above in in my area of Tokyo and last night it was definitely a level 4 in this area according to the TV news.

I don't suspect foul play at all. Having a 4 year old and a 1 year old, I know first hand how hard it is to keep a child away from a window. But at the same time I know I have to keep my eye on them every second they are near a window and tell them twenty times in the span of a minute to not touch the screen. Keep tables, chairs, wagons, every thing away from the window! I just wish our windows weren't frosted chicken wire so we could look out the window without opening it.

Moderator, the Imperial Hotel is NOT 119 years old. The original 1890 wooden Imperial hotel was replaced by a building designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1923. It lasted until 1968 when most of the hotel was demolished. Only the facade and pool were moved to a museum in Nagoya. The current Imperial hotel was built after 1968!
