I'm sure that will go over well with a foreign national team. Go to Fukushima and be used as a guinea pig by the Japanese government for a photo op with the international media while being spoon fed all the local radioactive delicacies. Oh, and nevermind the precarious situation with the nuclear plant just a few kilometers away.

And if they understandably balk? Play into the Japanese game of victimhood.

Looks like a win-win situation for the Japanese government.

Once again, If there's one thing I've learned from this thread it's that the worlds foremost nuclear experts reside right here on JT. And if there's one thing I can learn from them, it's "panic". I will start burying everything I see tomorrow morning..

Hide - how many "tough" fighters have made their way to Japan for the pleasure of a big cash fight with Kameda? That's right. ZERO. The only concept I don't understand is why you defend this guy when it's clear he's scared of fighting quality opponents.

Pacquiano fights in the US not just because it's where he gets the money, but because he wants to fight the best opponents out there which he has done. He has nothing to prove to anyone unlike Kameda, who like I mentioned before, only fights bums in Japan. Kameda has everything to prove.

Watched the news on Tuesday night as reporters breathlessly interviewed people proudly parking their cars in holes dug into snowbanks , or "kamakura". The first synapses to fire in my beer-soaked brain were "idiots, morons, cave-in". Sure enough 2 days later the same brain-dead reporters breathlessly reported the same brain dead people being dug out of their caved-in kamakuras.

Clement Delestrade - Boxers fight in the States because like it or not, thats where the big fights are and where the best boxers from around the world go. Manny Pacquiao doesn't cower in Manila fighting 12th ranked opponants, does he? He goes to Vegas to fight the best.

cubic - It could also mean that Ruiz doesn't want to waste his time against Kameda, who everyone knows inflates his win loss record by fighing tomato cans. Not to mention fighting every fight in the friendly confines of Osaka and in front of judges well taken care of.

It is true that it's pretty galling that they tell us not to eat on the trains when they have all those food shows on TV and talk about food constantly. They even have McDonalds posters everywhere but apparently it's not good enough to be eaten on the train.

AmericanForeigner - have u ever seen a food show or fast food commercial with people eating on the trains? No? Me neither. I guess they just assume people would have the common sense to eat somewhere like a restaurant, at home, a park....

Citizen14- u said it. I'm sure we'll be reading about this kid in 20 years or so for sniping people from a bell tower somewhere

the trials and tribulations that my ancestors had to endure. I wouldn't let ANYONE tell me where and when I can eat.

    Yes, NetNinja. Thats exactly what those brave men were thinking about while storming the beaches of Normandy and Tarawa;

"This is for that unborn child who someday will have the freedom to cram a Big Mac down his cakehole on the Yamanote line!"

Meanwhile tv tourist ads encouraging Japanese to visit tohoku run night and day. The govt was never serious about getting it right from day 1. They are doing nothing but trying to wish away the whole sorry mess.

Looks like a lot of JT readers need to read up on the monarchy.

Ranger Miffy- mostly a lot of young American and I'm ashamed to say, Canadian posters who regurgitate the same boring negative platitudes about the monarchy without any idea of how popular the queen is in England, or why. Their opinion likely came from an afternoon high school social studies class ( taxes? They don't have 9 to 5 jobs??) and means less than zero.

Utrack - after you stop laughing, u might want to know that kiosks on platforms sell small snacks such as nuts, pocky sticks, and drinks. Mostly to be enjoyed on the platform but not a problem on the train, either. Unlike a huge, sloppy, smelly fast food meal enjoyed by posters I shall not name.

So keep ignoring me and other non-Japanese as we CHOMP CHOMP chow down on Kentucky if we are absolutely starving.

Netninja- let me say I'll not only ignore you as well, but slither off to another car rather than watch a fellow foreigner cement the reputation we have amongst Japanese as only able to consume greasy fast food, AND not have the good sense to eat it in private.

NetNinja-I was wondering about that last diatribe, too. Your first post pictured you noisily scarfing down fast food in one hand and beating off love-starved Japanese hotties with the other. In your next post, however, no one will even sit next to you while u quietly nosh in the green car. What gives?

JacquelineMiyagaya - I can't believe some poor sole actually gave you a thumbs down for humbly saying you were brought up the right way, with a sense of decency and shame.

NetNinja - as always, Oy vey....

happymanintokyo - My beerfarts don't hurt anyone on a train either. Many will say I'm rude...nahhh, its just living my life the way I want to live!

    Look out, tonight, Yamanote Line!

If you want to change something in regards to train manner then tell Japanese girls to stop trying to sleep on my shoulder.

And yes, NetNinja. Everyone is now aware of how (depite stuffing your face with fast-food) strikingly sexy you must be.
